If you're on the fence about something, go check it out before hand. My husband took my son to see Speed Racer, just turned 6 a couple weeks back. My son said it had some bad words but he didn't hear them, whatever that means. My husband didn't see anything wrong with it. We are all looking forward to Kung Fu Panda.
At the very least, if a movie has something different than your family beliefs, it is a good opening to discuss them with your child. This has lead to some good conversations with our children about certain things. At 5, most things might go right over their head and you won't have to worry.
