I just had a beautiful baby girl 3months ago & ever since I have had a brownish bloody discharge you could say it's very sticky and has a slight odor. I have always had yeast infections since I was young and I did have discharge while I was pregnant as well but this is a very different type of discharge than I have ever had. I got the Mirena 6 weeks after I had my daughter and I bleed a good deal after I had it, I went and saw my dr and she said it was normal just gave me a weeks dose of birth control and said that should clear it up it did but now there is all this discharge. It's just getting to point where I'm starting to wonder if I will ever go back to normal so to speak ha. Is this normal? please help I'm going insane!

What can I do next?

What your describing, sounds pretty normal after pregnancy. On another note, I too experienced yeast infections throughout my life. Taking probiotics and eating yogurt (look for live active cultures printed on the packaging somewhere) are the only things that stopped them. I haven't had an infection in years!

Its only been 3 months, you are almost back to normal. Give yourself 6 months. If you are still having issues have your gyn check you again.
You will have a different normal now tho... the excess discharge may become a new normal for you.... but I feel it will go away. it takes awhile, and I know it has it's own weird aroma. Trust me that will dicipate as well.

I would talk to your dr again about the discharge. I had a bloody discharge for over 2 mos after my son was born, which would get heavier anytime I walked for an extended period of time or tried to exercise. Everything I read indicated the bleeding should have lessened or stopped by then. Finally, my dr agreed that something wasn't right and so he scheduled me for a DNC. Come to find out, I had a tiny piece of placenta still stuck in my uterus still which had been causing the bleeding.

I discharged for that long after my 2nd C-Section. I had an ultrasound that suggested some residual tissue. But rather than a 'procedure,' my dr put me on birth control pills, and, like you, that took care of it until I could have a full period -- that seemed to 'clear things out.' I don't think you necessarily get that with the Mirena (one of the 'nice' side effects, under typical circumstances). I'd call your dr or visit her again, and maybe do the pills (they didn't affect my breast milk, but talk with her about that too). I hated the discharge; it made me fell like an invalid. I hope you can resolve this soon, and get on to 'normal.'

Okay, when I bled after my mirena was put in, my Dr. said it was normal - and it wasn't. It turned out my IUD had perforated.

It sounds like you have an infection, not a yeast infection, and that you need to be seen by a different doctor for a second opinion.

I don't think it's normal, and you know your body better than any of us do.
