Hi there- Does anyone have any good suggestions for infant swim lessons? My son is 16 months old and I want to get swim lessons for him this summer. If possible I would like the lessons to be affordable as well.

Thanks,
J.

Infant Swim (ISR)....they are not affordable, but SO WORTH the money!!! Lifesaving techniques are taught....as young as 6 months old!!! Good luck!! I put both my boys in them and so glad I did!

My kids are doing private lessons with someone who is awesome. She does it out of her home at Power and Baseline. You don't have to deal with having your child in the pool with a bunch of other kids. You get one on one attention for your child to learn. She is really reasonable too, $25 a lesson. Send me a private message and I'll send you her information.

Check Mesa Parks & Rec (http://mesaaz.gov/parksrec/aquatics/default.aspx). We live in Gilbert and have put our kids in Gilbert's programs for the past 3 years. Classes run for 2 week sessions at $20 per session and lessons are generally taught by high school students. My kids have learned so much and look forward to lessons every summer, and you can't beat the price! For your son, check out a Parent & child class. Good luck!

I do Gilbert Parks and Recreation for about $20 each session (2 weeks long, 8 classes). I was pleasantly surprised with the skills my son learned. At your son's age, it's more about getting the kids comfortable in the water.

We work as well and found the YMCA to offer lessons on Saturday mornings, so you might check them out for your area. They are also affordable - $34 for four sessions.

Hi J.!
As others have said, check your local Mesa park and rec dept. But if things don't work out for you there, I know that Chandler and Gilbert both have swim programs that are open to non residents for just a couple dollars more than residents pay. I am taking my 20 month old for lessons starting next week and it is only $23 for 8 lessons!
Have fun!

When I in Phoenix, I used Aquamobile for private lessons for my 10 year old and she just loved it! When my youngest child was about 17 months old, I used them again! It was great. The instructors are incredible and the prices are super affordable. I'm a huge Aqumobile fan! http://aquamobileswim.com/l/private-swimming-lessons-phoe...

Echoing the last reply.... The City of Phoenix Parks and Rec also charges $15 for their 2 week class (8 sessions).

Hi J.-- I took my daughter to the ISR lessons (survival-based, one-on-one, every day) when she just 6 months old and then again when she was 15 months. It was great, but not affordable-- quite expensive and time-consuming actually, but worth it.

She is now a little over 2 and goes to Aloha Aquatic Center on Val Vista, and I love it there. She is in a class with 2 other little girls for 30 minutes, once a week. It is $65 a month I think. Here is their website: http://www.alohaaquaticcenter.com/go/. It is nice because I don't have to get in the pool with her. I get to watch from an observation room, which she didn't like at first, but is now fine with. I'd highly recommend it.

We are doing city of chandler lessons. My baby girl is 13mos and we will do toddler/mommy classes. They are $15 a session and that includes 8 25min classes. In this class they mainly just teach through games and get the kids comfortable in the classes. I have a 4 and 5 yr old who swim through city classes so check your local city!
