Ok Momma's! I am so super excited!!! I was hired today to start working back in a daycare/ pre-school environment. It has been So so so many years since I have worked in one ( like 11years!!!) I am excited and nervous. I no longer have any of my old supplies/curriculum and I also do not know what age group I get to be with yet. I talked to the director today and it looks like there is a good possibility I will be with the two year olds and only a slight chance I may be in the 3's or 4's room.
Any fun activities, circle time songs/ routines, books etc you want to suggest? Any AWESOME, I MUST go to websites or blogs for good ideas????

Seriously though, perhaps you can sit in on some of the other classes and get some ideas.
for 2s: colors, shapes, sorting, 1-10.
sing the ABCs.....with basic recognition closer to age 3.
nursery rhymes....& childhood classics. I also do lots of seasonal songs.
puzzles, beading, playdoh, & basic coloring.
sing & dance time.....& don't forget the pretend play time!!
The easiest way to teach 2s is to incorporate learning into fun....don't expect them to sit & pay attention!
You are likely going to have to follow the schedule set by the center. Within that, you can do lots of creative things! Some of my son's favorite activities at school...
- sensory table (sand, pasta, pebbles, etc)
- water table
- play doh (on plastic trays with cookie cutters)
- story time (different themed stories each week)
- sponge painting
- finger painting
- sensory painting (pipe cleaners, brushes, sponges, fabric, etc)
- follow the leader
- sing alongs
- dancing/gross motor
- calendar/weather
The school, the Director, probably has a curriculum and activity schedule already.
Per the school, SEE what they have. It is their school.
Or, does the Director let the Teachers do whatever they want???
Most Preschools, have a routine/curriculum/activity schedule already and school supplies.
Or are you starting, from nothing?
Also, you'd probably need to have things 'approved' by the Director, first. Per his/her school.
