Has anyone adopted a girl from China? If so, what agency did you use. We are starting the process.

I would recommend World Partners, here is a link to their website http://www.worldpartnersadoption.org/china.html
How exciting for you! We have a wonderful little girl from China who is 4. I highly recommend Holt. It is an international agency based in Oregon. You must work with an agency that does international adoption. They use local agencies to do your home study and then they guide you through the process, submit your paperwork to China, etc... There are yahoo groups with lots of info...I recommend aparentschina...go to yahoogroups.com and you can find aparentschina through that site. They have about 10,000 members wordwide and there are roughly 100 posts a day so it can be more info than you need but a lot of people find it helpful when they are interested in Chinese adoption. If you decide to work with Holt, FYI, they may seem more expensive at first glance because there is an orphanage fee that most agencies have you hand carry (in cash/new bills only) to China. It was $3,000 when we went. Holt does not have its families carry that cash...you pay the fee directly to Holt and they pay the orphanage in China. So that amount is included in Holt's fees. Also, when you choose a local agency to work with...look at costs and what they expect from you. We originally started with the Cradle and had a bad experience. We left them and went to a tiny agency (Baptist Children's Home/I don't know if they are still around/and we are not Baptist...you can work with any of the agencies regardless of the religious affiliation if any) anyway, we had a much better/quicker/less expensive experience with them. I loved working with Holt as our international agency...they are considered the best agency by many people. You can look at their web site www.holtintl.org
I wish you the best of luck. Please feel free to email me with further questions.
friends of ours are getting ready to celebrate their 1 year gotcha in June! They used a service called CCAI. I'm sure there's a web site for it...or try to google them.
My favorite agency is called--American kids need home, too.
