Adipex Withdrawl

I took Adipex for a while and lost 45 lbs. When I stopped taking it all the weight plus 15 lbs came back and I have NO energy during the day and can't sleep at night. I was going to go back on it but I was told by a nurse friend that continued use of Adipex can destroy my heart. I'm wondering if I messed up my hormones or thyroid by taking it. Has anyone taken this and gotten off it successfully and if so how did you get yourself regular with sleep again. I can't even find the energy to exercise. All I feel like doing is sleeping and eating during the day.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I've been off of it for 5 months. It stopped making me loose weight and I only took it for the energy towards the end. I would go back on if it were safe but a nurse told me that it enlarges your heart and the damage is irreversible. The doctor that gave it to me never told me about the withdrawal and dangers otherwise I never would have taken it in the first place. I have tried energy drinks, coffee and over the counter pep pills but none are as strong. Today was typical, woke up at noon and still tired. After 10 hours of sleep I feel like I've only slept for 4 hours.

I've never taken it but I have heard that it messes with your serotonin levels. Serotonin regulates your sleep patterns along with other things. Any kind of pharmaceutical (synthetic drug) works by changing or bypassing the natural process. Sometimes you have to detox to get it our of your system.

My husband had tried almost every diet and always gained his weight back plus some with a vengeance. When I actually got him healthy, his weight started dropping off. He took an absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex, with no activity change and no diet change and he lost 110 pounds. He's kept it off for almost five years now.

You need to get your body back to a baseline of good health. When nutrition actually absorbs, the body will not hold extra weight. If you'd like to talk, I'll be glad to help. Other than my husband, I helped his best friend lose 50 pounds and my sister in law lose 15. Absorbing, not just ingesting, nutrition really is the key.

God bless,

M.

When I was on it I took for a month and then would go off for 2-3 weeks. I was never on it for more than 3 months at a time. It's just like any other drug probably just needed to wean yourself off of it. I haven't been on it for over 2 years ( have had 2 kids inbetween). I do want to try it again need to lose at least 20lbs and it is the only thing that worked for me. Did you get pills from a DR or did you get online?

I'm unfamiliar with this product, but have been very successful with Weight Watchers. In less than 2 years I've lost 107 lbs. I can eat anywhere and live in the real world, with very few sacrifices. I can be full most of the time. Please look into it. There really are no enduring quick fixes!

Hello...I did, and am still at times taking adipex ( Actually the generic of it) When I don't take it..which is weeks at a time, i'm fine. Because it shrunk my stomache, i'm still not that hungry, and I actually have more energy and am not as irritable as when I take it.
I hope everything turns out for you :)
