Be very, very careful about natural "solutions," because they aren't regulated by the government. There are a lot of ADHD scams out there targeting parents afraid of the real medications (which are regulated). Even the natural solutions out there that are legitimate, such as Omega-3s, take a long time to work and provide limited results. I would check www.additudemag.com to see if there is information there about this alternative you've found. This magazine is based on factual data about ADHD and not hype or marketing, so you should get a sense of whether AVE is worth exploring or not.

Be careful. "Desperate" parents spend a lot of money every year looking for that next big thing that will give them better results than traditional ADHD treatments.

I don't know what you have already tried, but you would do better to save your money and get more therapy.

I would read the book "A Magnificent Mind At Any Age" by Dr. Amen. He embraces both medical and natural remedies. I don't remember AVE in there but he has a lot of good ideas, and I would order a scan such as his. Before I spent more money on a program, I would prefer to go be tested and talk to someone like him about it first, and of course I would want to discuss it with someone who is open to the idea in the first place. Best of luck with your research. I know I may have some form of ADHD and I would like to hear what you find out!

I'm not sure about that, but we've had good success working with www.interactivemetronome.com and Brain Balance Centers. You could see if they have providers near you. GL!

Looking at the website, it looks like they have relabeled a standard intensive tutoring service and made unbased claims that it's right for ADHD kids. For $200/hour, you can get much more targetted help from a board-certified psychiatrist and it might even be paid for by your insurance. AVE looks like it will be out of pocket, at an amazing rate. Good luck.

I don't know anything about AVE but you might look into AllergiCare (or BAX 3000 which is offered by Bioveda...same system). It was developed for allergies but is being applied to lots of other conditions, including ADHD and autism. My daughter had lots of food (and environmental) allergies and we've been through the treatments and are now testing foods to see if she needs more treatments. It's working for us. She had lots of behavior issues with her allergies, and now she's so much easier to be around. If you don't have any locations for either of those systems you might also look into AAT (advanced allergy therapeutics, I think). There are some other treatments as well. Let me know if you'd like more info, and good luck finding something that will help.
