A lady gave me a great idea for a AHB but I need ideas for placing the ad on Craigslist. Would $15 for 2 baskets of laundry be too much. Same day service, drop off in am and pick up in pm. Any ideas for the ad... thanks

Prices are 2 loads $20 if I use my soap
$15 for 2 loads with your soap.
each additional load $5
ALL PRICES INCLUDE FOLDING. IRONING $1 EXTRA PER ITEM OF CLOTHING

Are these prices good?????

What can I do next?

I don't think so. I think I paid $6/load to have my clothes washed and folded at the laudromat, and that was when I brought my own soap, bleach, fabric softener etc. and that was 14 years ago!! I think you should charge more than $15 if you are providing all of the supplies as well. Maybe that could be your base price and it is $2 for soap, $2 for fabric Softener, $1 for dryer sheets, etc....per load. I saw your previous post and thought this was a great idea! Kudos to the poster!! Good Luck ~

That was weird, I posted an answer to your question and it was gone! ;) I just wanted to say, as was suggested, to check local laundromats and see what they charge and go from there. You should be able to charge a little more, as people will expect you to use more care. A couple of things to keep in mind- you are using your own machines, and this will be a lot of wear and tear on them so make sure you are figuring in replacing them eventually- this is something I had to figure for when using my own vacuum to clean peoples homes and places of business.
In my area, I would pay those prices- the time savings would be worth it!

Great idea! I think $15 is cheap. I would charge at least $25 for one basket. Will you be ironing/folding as well? For same day service, add a fee, like $5 additional for same day service per basket. Otherwise, it is next day pick up.
You could have the full price listed, with a special introductory price of $15 per basket for new clients. You can see how it goes from there. You are not locked in to your prices. I would have them expect higher prices and have occasional specials if you are not getting enough response to your ad.
ADDED:
Don't forget that people using this service tend to have extra money for such things. Don't be afraid to charge what you are worth for your time.

I checked Craigslist in my area and found a couple people who do this. One person charged $18 for a bag of clothes (they said two loads of laundry). This included folding and ironing. But clothes would be returned within 48 hours. The other person charged $20 for two loads and said it would be delivered next day.

I would give same day as an option but a $5 fee applies. Best of luck to you!

I would also check some of the laundromats in your area that also provide this service and be comparable for your area. Definitely give people options and different pricing considering their options such as same day service, maybe a discount for so many loads, etc. Just remember to be competitive in your pricing and make it worth your while.$7.50/load is reasonable depending on what you get for that.

Please do a lot more research besides how much to charge if you are considering an AHB. Do you need a city business license? Do you really want strangers coming to your home? etc. etc. etc. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying do your research.
