Hi Mamas,
My son is 2 yrs old was evaluated by EI and found to have speech delay as well as possible sensory issues. EI is still looking for a ST to assign to him (it's been a month). As for an OT, I was told that they are harder to find and the waiting list is very long. That I should probably try going private.
This brings me to my question. I am looking at Action for Kids (Naperville/Shorewood) and Spot 4 Kids (Oswego). Have any of you Mamas used their services your child? How was your experience and your likes/dislikes? I would like to get the help my son needs sooner rather than later. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advanced!

Hello- I have used Spot for Kids for OT and it was a wonderful experience. They have a huge indoor gym for the children to play in and the people in there are very nice and very knowledgeable. They give you a write up every time that you have therapy to tell you what your child did.
Good Luck-A.
My son did 6 mos of OT at Action for Kids in Shorewood. His therapist was Barb. We had a really great experience. He loved going there. In fact, when we switched from 1/week to 2/month, he was so upset he cried. He thought it was a punishment to go less often. I had a really good experience with them, too. I never had problems making appts and felt really comfortable with them. They also did all the work dealing with my insurance, which was great. If you have any specific questions about them, feel free to send me a private note.
Hi M.-
I have had a very positive experience at Spot 4 Kids- my daughter went there for years until our insurance stopped paying for her PT & OT- I just checked in with them recently (within the last month) for OT and they do not have any openings right now - so you would be put on a waiting list-
Hope this helps-

My friends son went to spot for 2 years for sensory. She loved spot & so did her son. My daughter is currently in her 1st year of college for OT & she volunteers at spot. She really likes it there & said everyone is so nice to work with & great with the kids.
M.,
Not sure where you live but my son has Down syndrome and we go to SPOT in Oswego. I have had nothing but a great experience there and love the therapists!
