acrylic paint has never ever come out of my clothes....and I have worked as a painter for years...
sorry this is the only thing I have no recipe to remove...
My 3-yr-old son decided it would be a really fantastic idea to try and set up some painting time for himself. Right after church. In one of his only good button-up shirts. With black acrylic paint.
I've washed it twice (once with prespot) but it's only air-dried because I didn't want to put it in the dryer and lose all hope forever. Anyone have any advice on how to get rid of these stains?
Thanks for the advice, everyone! You confirmed my suspicions, but I wanted to find out from a more artistically educated crowd before I did something drastic. I'm thinking a dye job may be in order......

As an artist who works in both acrylic and oil, if the paint is dry, there is no getting it out. Even if you caught it when wet, you likely would not have been able to get it out. Looks like your son has a new painting smock.
It depends on how much paint. Sometimes you can pick the dry parts off. Some good methods linked below.
Also, Savers, DI and Goodwill usually have great dress shirts for boys for really cheap.

This won't help on the shirt, but you can mix liquid soap in with some paints ahead of time, and then if the paint does get on clothing, it will wash out easier.
