Many people choose not to vaccinate. I am not one of them.
However, I don't know that children are arbitrarily taken away based on such a decision.
I think that many people feel they don't need to vaccinate simply because so many other people do and therefore, the chances of THEIR children becoming ill is small.
Locally, whooping cough has made a real come back and there are even commercials on TV about it. Kids die from it. I'd rather give my kid the shot.
Also, I have an aunt who suffered all her life after being stricken and crippled by polio as a child prior to the vaccine. No way in hell would I risk that happening to my kids.
My children, as well as all the other children in my very large and extended family had their kids vaccinated on schedule with no side effects, etc. We do not have one single incidence of autism for generations.
Kids who are vaccinated don't have to worry about the diseases they are vaccinated against.
Kids who aren't vaccinated have to worry about contracting something from the other kids who aren't vaccinated.
This is just my opinion.
My kids are grown and healthy. My 25 year old daughter has her son on his vaccination schedule. All the women I work with have their children in for their scheduled vaccines.
I guess it's something you either do or you don't, but I would never risk my children getting things they could be protected from by vaccines.
If they ever had bad reactions, it might be different, but thankfully, I didn't go through any of that.
Just my opinion.
