Ok so today my adorable blond heir (he's 5) decided to take an egg from the fridge and to smash it on the white fabric couch we have in the living room...yes, the cushiony kind, very thick and absorbing, just perfect to suck in all the fabulous aroma of farm-raised chicken...HOW TO I TAKE THE SMELL OUT?? I did all the doable (removed egg, absorbed and pat with paper towel etc..) the stink is making me sick right now...ugh. Anybody can help?

What can I do next?

This sounds weird, but do you have any Nature's Miracle around? That's the stuff that removes pet smells and stains. However, I know from experience it deals with more than pet problems.

If you can borrow some (or buy a small bottle), give it a try. The egg and its, um, accompanying fragrance may have gone through the fabric into the stuffing. You'll need to soak the spot in NM, even the cushioning; it has its own odor when it's wet, but when it's completely dry, both the smells should be gone. Worth a try, maybe.

Also, I just went online and found this site which may help you:

My goodness! You're very brave to have a white couch in the same house with children! :~)

Kids n Pets is an enzyme cleaner like the ones you use to clean up pet stains. It gets out stains and smells. It's usually with the carpet stain removers in Wal Mart, but you can use it on clothes too. I LOVE this stuff. It even gets out tomato stains. You will have to soak the area and let it dry completely, but that should get rid of the smell.
