You can try LAParent.com. My kids loved the zoo at that age. There's also Kidspace Museum in Pasadena, various indoor playgrounds and Descanso Gardens.
check out whatsupforkids.com
You can also try The Daisy Chain. They know of what is going on in your area, if there is a fair or kid special event. Sign up for their newsletter and you will be updatied of new things that are going on. I find it VERY helpful around the holidays.
The Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball is excellent. You should it check it out.
try gocitykids.parentsconnect.com. It's sorted by area and lists special events as well as repeating ones (like pony rides or petting zoos at the Farmer's Markets).
Lots to do...Noahs Ark Show at the Skirball. Murakami Show at Moca, The Bonaventure Hotel downtown LA has lots of elevators, escalators, indoor fountains etc. My daughter loves it, The Central Library Downtown, Santa Monica Pier, Long Beach Aquarium, Descanso Gardens in La Canada, The Bob Baker Marionette Theatre ...and much much more!!
Dear R.,
Sign up for Go City Kids.com. They have one for each major city and they send weekly updates on activities in your area.
If you are in the LA area some nice places are Kids Space Museum in Pasadena or Huntington Library Gardens.
I would recommend a trip to the zoo. Check out the new gorilla exhibit, it's amazing. I would also head over to the zimmer museum for an afternoon. The park is always fun, I like the playgrounds at San Vicente park, Plumber park, Pan Pacific Park and Shane's inspiration in Griffith Park. You don't really need to "do" much with a 3 year old. They usually have fun just playing with other kids.
