Try Build A Bear Workshop...a friend recently did one of these for her now 5 year old and she said everyone enjoyed it (she had a variety of ages at the party ranging from i think 2-like 10 or 11)
My 3yr old son will be 4yrs old in January. Any suggestions for places in the area besides Pump It Up and Chuck E Cheeses?

Some good ideas would be Universal Gymnastics. The boys get to run around and just be boys. Also, what about a bowling party. Those are always a hit with my kids. Good luck. I have winter babies too!
The Lackey High school pool is a great place to have a party. They have a nice party package. It is just 15 minutes out of Waldorf, but still in Charles County. Unlike the North point High School pool in Waldorf, they actually have a smaller pool that is perfect for young kids. Great fun in the Winter time for all ages because they have a bigger pool as well, my kids are 14,7,5,3.
I recommend The Family Place to Play in Waldorf. Its similar to Pump It Up but about $100 cheaper.
Hi A., My boys attend a Kung Fu School located in Laurel, Maryland. They offer a birthday party package. They are a really good school, very family orientated.
Here is the information you can contact them and see if that is something you might like to do for your son.

Hi there! I have a 4 year old in August, so it usually goes in a similar arc, that weather is too harsh for kids to hang outside. (HOT HOT HOT!)...I've found all sorts of ideas over the last few years. Here's a quickie list:
1. POrt Discovery in Baltimore is awesome! it's 3 levels of an old Wherehouse right accross from ESPN zone, with tons of things for all kids. They have yearly memberships that totally pay for themselves in 2 visits with 1 or 2 kids. portdiscover.http://www.portdiscovery.org/#home I can't say enough grteat things about this place. http://www.portdiscovery.org/#home
2. Roly Polies Gyms are awesome. Trampolines, foam blocks to jump in, and the kids get a real workout. Great for making them sleep after!
3. The College Park Aviation Museum does fun and educational parties. Activities, tour the museum, etc.
4. MD Science Museum, very interactive, has a nice kids room on the top floor. Not cheap though, but parents get a kick out of it.
5. What about the MOvie theatres? Muvico has a party room for kids and offers plans.
6. This one is tough, but there's always a ceramic painting party. Pick small things that kids can't break as easily. (This one is a long shot, but an option.)
That's just a short list, and all I can think of while recovering from my own son's 4th bday yestarday. (At Pumpitup coincidentally. BUt all his friends LOOOOVE that place, and the adults really get excited too, so My son asked to go back again this year! )
If you still need more ideas, chesapeakefamily.com has a load of events and suggestions. Good luck with all this, and don't go as crazy as I did with the goodie bags. :)
We went to Port Discovery in Baltimore for our 4 and 2 yr old's party last year in December which was GREAT and cheap if you are already a member. They taught and let the kids make their own cotten candy and then lots of playtime. There is also a huge moonbounce warehouse liek place in Colimbia which was also great! I think they had 6 different moonbouces and the place was carpeted so they could run around in their socks the whole time.
Best of luck!!
