Griffin Martial Arts in south minneapolis. Keith runs a cardio arts kick boxing class that whips you into shape in no time at all! He combines weight lifting, resistance training, kicking, punching, jump roping, etc. for a new workout every day. He pumps up the music for an awesome time! There are a variety of time slots including early morning, evening and weekend. $199.00 for 12 weeks.

Jazzercise is a GREAT class....they're all over the metro area...it's exercise, but doesn't "feel" like exercise. Check them out....I've LOVED them. Cardio and toning! GREAT!!

YES!! The YMCA!!! There are so many locations and an individual membership is only $55 a month. Plus, the childcare is free while you workout. They have many, many classes to choose from. My personal favorites are bodypump (real results, real fast) and bodyflow. Bodypump is weight training to music. I started doing it after my first child was born and I could not believe how fast I reshaped my body. I have always had "fat knees" and my legs look better now at 39 than they did at 25.
They have other cardio classes, pilates, yoga and water classes too. Good luck and congrats on the wedding.

I love the midtown YWCA. It's $60 a month for me and my two kids. But, they have a program with many health insurance programs that take $20 off a month if you go 8 times. So, it ends up being only $40 for the three of us. Plus they have free babysitting, mornings and evenings. They offer many classes and also have personal trainers. There are also downtown and uptown locations but tthe midtown, being the newest, has the best facilities, including a great leisure pool with fountains and a huge slide for the kids. www2.ywcampls.org

If you're looking for an inexpensive way to loose weight, I have an alternate suggestion. I now weigh 15 lbs lighter than I did before I was pregnant. I went to weight watchers...you can sign up some time when they have no joiners fee or they sometimes have 16 week seasonal packages that are about cheaper than paying the full weekly membership. I used that in conjunction with "the firm" step aerobics. I think you can buy the system (stepper, and video's) for about
$56. If you can get 30 - 45 minutes in the evening to do the work out 3 - 4 times a week it should work. Over all it would probably be cheaper than a gym. I never got back to the gym after I had my little boy...much more convienent to do it at home for me. Just an idea.
