I just bought a house & will be moving next week into it. I was able to get all the appliances to come with the house.. Now I have never had a dishwasher before & would like to clean or run a couple cycles thru before we actually start to use it.. Is there a white vingear solution or something in those terms I can use?? Thanks!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)
Yes, you can put a cup of white vinegar upright in the top rack and run the dishwasher through a cycle. Before I do this, I usually take the racks out and de-gunk the drains & filters.
I've also done the 'nuke a cup of vinegar' in the microwave to clean it -- that one works really well! The burnt on gunk just wipes right up. Stinks though!
I recommend CLR in case there is any build-up. However, vinegar is a general cleaner.

Next to the powdered detergent in the grocery store, they should have cleaners for appliances. I like LemiShine - it works for washing machines, too.
It's really the citric acid that does it. I've heard that you can use UNSWEETENED powdered lemonade, too, but I don't know how much.
I saw a process on Pinterest. I didn't pin it because I didn't need it, but here is a link to the search. I saw lemonade as one of the cleaning processes?? Cool.

I was having a problem with build-up and clouding on glasses a while back and I posted here. Someone suggested running about a half container of regular TANG through on the hottest cycle and I have to say that it really worked. I do run some white vinegar through once in a while along with a load and that seems to clean most of the gunk out.
