Dear K., Hi, I do not live near Flint but I do have one Autistic son and one autistic daughter. And a baby that seems to be OK so far she is 14 months. I know how lonely it can be how it is that people do not understand what it is like and the jugdment that you go through. The sorrow the windows of pure joy too. LIke when my daughter siad I love you at 7 years old for the first time. If you want to talk I am here. We live in Boyne City. My husband is in Iraq so I need friends too. I have a developmentally delayed 15 month old...she is in EI and doing very well, there is a web site for moms to hang out, vent and blog and there is a local group too....it is at www.dailystrength.org you should check it out...I am walking September 30 at the zoo in the local first walk for Autism Now....you can still register to walk. My team is under Aimee Pollack's name.

Children are such a blessing but we all need friends and family to talk to for support and to get us over the 'rough spots'. I don't know what I would have done without my support team. My first child was very ill and there was so much to do for her when she came home.
My entire career has been centered around working with developmentally disabled, autistic and traumatic brain injured individuals.

hi K., my name is C.. i am the grandparent of a four year old autistic boy. my daughter lives in flint and she doesn't know her way around much. but she is looking for some type of school to put her son in. also financial aid for his doctors. i watch my grandson while his mother works. and it is a full time job. and you have two with autism? how old are they? four children? god bless you. i know that you have your hands full. my daughter doesn't have internet right now, but i know that she would really like someone to talk to also. she is 28 and this is her only son. how old were your children when you found out that they were autistic? my daughter has a real hard time controling her son alot of the time. i don't experience what she does for some reason. are your kids in school? has it helped them?my grandson. his name is jaden doesn't write. he repeats things over and over. he eating habits are terrible. it's hard to find something that he will eat. every day is different. and whats bad is, people just don't understand when you take your child out and he is acting up. they just look at him like he is a spiled brat. if they only knew. i never realized how many kids that this affects. and don't it make you wonder why? it really does feel good to be able to talk to someone in the same situation. god be with you. and i hope to hear from you. bye,bye.
