My baby will be a year old on Sunday and and he only had baby food a couple of times then he started to eat every thing that I have. And he is doing great
I have a 9 month old daughter who will not eat the jar baby foods. She will eat almost anything I give her that is my food. I was wondering what is ok and what is not ok to give her? And if anyone had any recipes she might enjoy. Thanks

It is perfectly fine for her to eat regular food. Just make sure she's eating healthy and you're not giving her anything too spicy. Also, no honey until after she's one. My son didn't want baby food from the time he got his first teeth, and he's a very open minded eater.
Have you ever tasted that baby food-- yuck!!! lol. I don't blame the kids for wanting regular table food. I fed mine off the table from the get go. I fed both of them everything we ate. Just make sure it is healthy for them. Not alot of sugar!! Mine ate small pieces of chicken torn up very small, green beans, mashed potatoes, anything with a soft consistency. I didn't give corn until they were older since it is so hard to digest. Everything else, if it was soft, I gave it to them. Use your imagination on recipes and things. If you will eat it and it is soft, I bet they will like it too. Neither one of my kids are picky eaters. Actually my son is 8 and likes way more stuff than I do. lol
Same here! My youngest never had jarred food, just fed herself from seven months on.
It sounds like your little one is ready for real food. As long as the pieces aren't too big or too hard (causing a choking hazard), it seems to me like she can have almost anything that you eat. If she has never eaten adult food, I would definitely start out slow, only offering one or two new things at a time to check for allergies. Otherwise, I don't see any reason not to introduce her to real food. I would start out with some steamed veggies (since they are soft), mashed potatoes, or anything that you feel she could handle. If she doesn't have many teeth, soft foods that she can gum is the way to go. Once she gets used to eating the really soft foods, then you can begin introducing other foods that require a little more work on her part. Good luck! It's fun watching them learn about solid foods!

You could try making her food. I did that with my dd and she also ate what we ate as well and still does at 15 mths... http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ is a great site for food ideas. I still make some of my dd's and freeze it, esp fruits since it's getting hot she can eat them as popsicles.
At this age my boys were all eating a lot more table food than baby food. Watching for foods that would trigger food allergies.
I had a hard time getting my oldest off of baby food b/c it was the only way he would eat green veggies. On the other hand, I never got my youngest to even eat baby food. He didn't really eat much food until he could feed himself. he didn't even like rice cereal. Anyway, all kids are different. Cooked egg yolk can be a great high calorie and protein for babies. Don't use the whole egg until she is one. Good luck and happy eating.
My daughter was the same way. She wanted whatever is on our plates. She didn't get teeth until she was 11 months old and she would just gum her way to smaller pieces. Now at 1 year she eats everything and only has 4 teeth.
