9 Month Old Waking at 5Am Every Morning. HELP!

Okay, this has to be one of the most commonly asked questions on here, but I'm asking anyway. I love the advice you mamas have to give! So, my 9 month old has been sleeping through the night for some time, but we went away for a week last month, and since then, he has been waking up at 5 am. When he does this, he cries and cries (screaming is a more apt description), and does not go back to sleep on his own. The biggest problem with letting him cry in his crib is that he shares a room with his 3 year old brother. Even though I usually try to let him cry for 10 minutes or so, I always end up going to get him because his crying just keeps intensifying and wakes the 3 year old too early!! So, he's gotten used to me getting him up at that time and demands it. Once he gets up, I nurse him and lay him down in between me and my husband. Sometimes he'll fall back to sleep there, but usually he just sucks his thumb/plays/babbles for awhile and is up.

His early waking isn't affecting him negatively, as he just takes an earlier morning nap! But it's no good for me and my 3 year old! Advice?

Thanks ladies.

This is what I do with my early riser....and yes, it took a few weeks of this to get used to it.

I program my coffee maker for the time he normally gets up.

When he cries I get him, get my cup of coffee, nurse him on the couch and turn on tv. We have a DVR so I watch previously recorded shows like Rachael Ray or something that doesn't use any thinking skills. When my son is done nursing he plays with some of his toys and eats a snack and after my first cup of coffee I'm half way awake. An hour or two later my 4 year old is up and quiet time is officially over!

He might be going through a growth spert so he is in need of a little more feeding maybe breast/bottle feed him to soothe him back to sleep he might outgrow it or not but you have to try to get him back to sleep while he is sleepy before all the screaming starts by then it will be too late he will be wide awake!

Some kids are just early risers, and I think every child goes through phases of earlier waking. My older one has always been an early bird, though we were thrilled when his 4:30am wake-up stretched into a 5 or 5:30am one! Once in a while, he's asleep untill 6 or even (gasp!) 6:30, and I start wondering if he's getting sick when he "sleeps in".
My younger is 7 months and times vary. She's usually a 7am waker, but sometimes has been as early as 5:15! I hate putting her back to sleep in the morning because I don't want to get her into that habit! My day starts around 5 or 5:15 (sometimes before since she usually wakes around 4:30 to nurse, goes back to sleep, and by that time, my older is up!). I figure I'll get to sleep in somewhat when they're both old enough to entertain themselves quietly and understand not to get mommy up. Maybe by the time they're teenagers! :)
We've played with bedtimes for both, but it's always true that the later they go to bed, the earlier they're up. The baby goes to sleep by 6:30 or so, the 2.5 yo by 7:15 or so. Because my day starts so early, I'm usually in bed around 9. You probably just need to adjust your schedule and way of thinking for a few years. But if you find a way to get a later wake-up in the mornings, let me know, I'd LOVE it!!

Deal with it.......We all have lol. Wake up at 5am, feed child, change diaper and take them to lay back down with you in bed till 7 when other child gets up. Its normal process, he is only 9 months is going to be a bit till they sleep in a bit more .

Your not the first, nor the last to ever have to go through this
