Hello,
My 8 year old daughter has been complaining about nipple pain. Is this normal for an eight year old? We are out of town, and she will see her pediatrician when we get back next week. Should I try a training bra? Could she already be developing?
Thanks

What can I do next?

Everyone is different and she may very well be developing or at least her body may be preparing to develop. I think I stayed in that prep stage for a long time.

I don't know that a training bra will help her pain, it is growing pains and she has many more to face where that came from.

I wouldn't worry about it. My daughter started developing at SEVEN (going on 8)! (And she eats mostly organic, etc.) I was shocked. Her ped said it was pretty much normal. Girls start developing any time between 8 and 12. It seems so young, I know. And now that my daughter is 8 going on 9, her development is even starting to show. Ugh!

Yep her buds must be coming in.. I was 8 so was our daughter when ours became sensitive.

Time for undershirts, sport style bras or a bra.. Take her to Target. They have a ton of styles for her to try.. and not very expensive.

Totally on schedule.

I would take her to the pediatrician for sure, but it sounds like the buds are starting to develop.

My daughter was about 8 when she started having to wear undershirts. Not to help with pain, but so that she wouldn't show through her shirts. She graduated to training bras when she was 10, and now at 11, her breasts are just starting to get larger. It's a long process.
