Funny! my baby-boy used to do that with his gums(LOL),but your doing the right thing by releasing her and saying no! but when you get tired of baby-gumby,gumming you,you can try the pacifier! This way she'll gum on that instead of gumming mommi. This won't work over nite,it'll take a day or 2 befor she accept this, or you can just start bottleing the breast milk this way she can chew the nipple all she want while still being on breast milk but not gumming you(laugh).A lot of people don't like the pacifier, but I loved them & so did all 5 of my babies when it was their turn. On one of my kids I also stopped breast feeding when he was a year old & asked his pediatr, which milk was close to breast milk. In my kase we had to use Isomil since it was made from soy beans, since mine had some lactose problems, the other baby when his turn came I just started giving him can carnation milk 1/2 diluted with water.anyway, she'll have a fit at first, when she starts screaming for breast if she hasn't stop gumming you, pull her off and push the pacifier in her mouth or bottle, she'll spit it out since not used to it,she'll scream & spit out, you just repeat put it in her mouth as I say this'll take a day or 2 for her to be kool with it. then you'll have a happy breast again! This is what worked for me,besides I learned to tune out the screaming.I noticed when you look at them while their screamingthey get louder,if you act like you can't hear them the screaming subsides a little each time especially while you have on Nickalodien chanell or any cartoon channel. Well sorry to ramble so much, but I hope you find your way, if my way up-sets you( but I didn't intend on that) you and baby-girl gummby have a fun day.P.S.this also works at nite after you brst feed her and she still wants your breast, give baby the pacifier she'll chew and suck her-self back to sleep. you can e-male me if you want,i'm new to this site as of last nite,so still learning how to manuver my way around and meet momms!
