Sounds like she might be either gluten intolerant or lactose intolerant or both. My guess is gluten...especially since she's so skinny, she might not be absorbing food the way she should...that's characteristic of celiac disease.
is there a childrens tablet that could be given to her daily to stop this ,,,its so constant her class mates have a nick name for her at school ,,not so nice of one...and it upsets her so that she sometimes cries @ it ...would giving her a drug of any kind daily not be a bad choice though ...just scares me a little but the alternative breaks my heart and embarases her ...SCARED MEMA...

excessive gas is usually due to a diet issue. Is she chowing down on crates of broccoli? She could be lactose intolerant. You could try keep a food journal and see if it is worse at certain times.
Have you tried some Little Tummies Gas Relief drops?
If the problem is significant enough to create a nickname, a trip to the doctor may be in order.
Find the food trigger and then avoid it.
If smell is a problem, you can give her an activated charcoal capsule every day and although she might still be gassy, the smell will be gone.
Drinking plenty of water is always a good idea.
Fiber might help if she eats too little of it.
But fiber can be constipating if she doesn't drink enough water to keep it moving along.
Some yogurt or probiotics might help too.
My friend is lactose intolerant and she gets horrible gas if she has some milk or dairy. All though college she would take "beano" or "lactaid" drops. I bet it is something she is eating that is giving her gas.
Please test her for food allergies and intolerances. You will get results and you can eliminate foods that rot inside her (because she cannot digest them) and stop the flatulence.
Myself and my kids are allergic to many foods, milk, eggs, gluten are the most troublesome for us. By avoiding them, not only we avoid, indigestion, skin rashes, itchy eyes, but attitude and attention problems as well. Good luck to you.
I would look first at her diet. What does she eat? If she's eating beans (not green beans) broccoli, cabbage, onions those can cause gas unless your body is used to them. That means eating them nearly every day. There may be other such foods too. Look up "foods that cause gas" on the Internet. Some people's system do not do well with too much roughage and some people need more roughage. How much and what type of roughage is she eating? Also, this could be caused by lactose intolerance. Lactose is found in all dairy products.
For people prone to gas, sucking liquid from a straw can add to the amount of air in the digestive track which causes gas noises getting rid of it. The same principal. If one chews with an open mouth or sucks in air when eating this adds to the gas in the system. I've noticed that talking while eating can cause one to swallow air.
If that doesn't alleviate the problem, I'd make an appointment with her pediatrician. There are some medical conditions that cause this difficulty. Food allergies is one of those. Lactose intolerance is another. There are also digestive conditions (illnesses) that may need to be diagnosed and treated.
I would think that she could take Beano or one of the other OTC pills that deal with gas. Those contain simethicone, a natural ingredient. The bottle does not say to not give it to children. You can ask the pharmacist about it.
Has your daughter seen a pediatrician within the last couple of years? Do you know if her weight is at a healthy level? Skinny can mean that her body has difficulty absorbing nutrients. The gas can be a product of unabsorbed food.
Could be a food allergy.. Or a typical reaction to foods that cause gas..raw fruits and veggies, fiber foods, whole wheats.... Beef....pork... Eggs...
Please don't just look for a magic pill!
She needs a thorough checkup by her doctor. It sounds like she may have (as others have noted) food allergies or intolerances or dietary issuues, but you need to sit down with a doctor and/or nutritionist and do this properly rather than trying to guess what's wrong or give her some pill that might reduce the gas - but would not tell you what the underlying problem is.
Get her to the doctor, really tell the doctor every detail of her diet etc., and listen hard.
it has to be something in her diet.. write down what she eats.. write down her bowel movements and gas..
after a couple of days or a week.. you should be able to figure out what is causing this.. milk is the most likely food that causes gas.. garlic upsets my stomach and gives me gas.
broccoli causes gas..
figure out what is in her diet.. gas x tablets are supposed to wrok..but you need to eliminate the food trigger.
Usually the problem lies with a bad diet, no fiber, fruits or veggies. The best thing would be to increase these and increase water drinking. Another consideration is some kind constipation. You can call her ped and get him to recommend something. Could be a kind of food intolerance or allergy.
Even gluten intolerance. Consult her doc.
My teeny daughter farted like a 60 yo 400 lb truck driver full of burritos until we discovered lactaid. That was the end of it.
:)
This happens to me if I eat onions and garlic. Happens to my mom if she eats green pepper, watermelon or cucumbers. Have her try and keep a journal of what foods are causing it. My gastro doc said it was due to an irritable colon.
Things that can help - Gas tablets (just filled with simithecone which is ok for babies to take).
Taking Beano before she eats offending foods. It's an enzyme that helps break down the foods better.
eliminate constipation - the longer the food sits in the colon the more time it has to ferment with bacteria. Gas is the by product of bacteria.
Have her take a probiotic - not yogurt if she is constipated. Dairy further constipates. She could drink kombucha.
Finally they make a RX strength IBS med. Not sure of the age limits on it though.
some times people do not process foods well. like if my gramma eats brocoli forget it its on ! beans are the "magical fruit" try avoiding foods that either trigger most people and you might even find some that trigger her. look for all natural gas ex or gas relief. tell her to have manners about it and not push her toots out. or if she has to burp how to do it lady like and not a huge frat boy belch. kids will tease over anything and everything. teach her how to just let it roll off her back. that was the most impressive when a boy was being teased on the bus and he just smiled and had an attitude like its no thing. they no longer teased him because he did not care.
