7 Week Old with Contact Ezcema

Hi. First off I want to say that I have ezcema and my almost 6 year old son has the same kind of ezcema as I do. My daughter who is almost 7 years old has ezcema too but it is only little bumps on her upper arms. We do have ours under control so far..
BUT,
My baby girl that will be 7 weeks on Tuesday was just diagnosed with contact ezcema this friday. Anytime she is picked up and where ever you touch her she turns red and stays red for a while. Her face is the only place that has actual bumps of ezcema. She is constantly screaming if you move while you are holding her or she moves most of the time.
Just wondering if anyone else has had or their child has had contact ezcema?
Thanks!
E. S.

I'm so sorry that sounds very difficult to deal with. two of my sons have eczema but mild in comparison, i started giving them Flax oil, strawberry favored, recommended by the health food store and it cleared them right up, now when ever they get a flare up i just give them a Tbsp twice a day for a couple of days and it clears right up... may not be suitable for a 7 week old but i'd certainly ask the dr if you could try it.

my son at 6wks started being fussy all the time. he had newborn rash and i was told to let it run it's course. then when i broght him to his 8wk appt, the dr told me he had eczema. i used burts bees baby wash and lotion, the it took care of it by about 10wks of age. then he stopped being so fussy. to this day, if we use anything other than burts bees, he breaks out. hope it helps.

I so feel your frustrations. My daughter also had ezcema and I used Aveeno baby wash and Eucerin lotion. It was the only stuff that helped. My mother in law would always come over with perfume and lotions on and it was such a touchy subject to address. Every time she would hold my daughter she would break out. I finally just mentioned the scented lotions etc and asked that she hold her with a blanket in between them. Although it was kinda uncomfortable to address initially, I realized that I was my child's advocate and had to speak up for her health and well being. It was fine and she understood. Once she knew what to do my daughter wasn't as sensitive and has since cleared up.
Good luck.

Hi E.,

Eczema is such a bummer, I grew up with it and I've heard stories just like yours from my mom about when I was a baby. I hate to say that I struggled with most of my life until recently. I started working with a wellness company that is focused on eco-friendly/naturally based products and is passionate about ridding the toxins from our homes. Anyways, since using their products myself in particularly, their lotion, my eczema has completely cleared up. The only time this has ever happened is when I lived in Florida (the humidity). Now, I have been sharing these amazing products with all of my family and friends that struggle with eczema.

I would start by looking at the toxins/chemicals that are found in the products you are using in your home (laundry, cleaning, bath, etc.) Simply removing these can do wonders. I would love to share some of my info with you if you are interested.

Ezcema is such a pain! I'm sorry you have to both deal with it. I have a couple suggestions that I've known to really help. One would be a baby skin care line called Mustela (Babies r us carries it). I have heard it be really helfull with baby/child ezcema.
Also Arbonne has a baby line that has been proven to literally take it away. My nieghbor's daughter had really bad ezcema and started using the baby wash and lotion and in two days it was gone and has never come back, that was three years ago. They also have a few options for adults as well. The baby line works for adult ezcema as well plus they have a skin conditioning oil that has worked wonders. I have some before an after pictures that are amazing. Feel free to email me if you are interested in any of the Arbonne products. But again, I've heard mustela works for most as well :)

Our Son had contact Ezcema and he had it from head to toe-it was awful and he would even bleed. Eucerin burned his skin. The doctor had us use oatmeal baby wash and instead of lotions, we had to use vaseline. We used to joke that he was our little grease monkey, but we would see drastic results by the next morning.
He was also our 3rd child but we had to be very picky as to who could hold him. We would bring a blanket from home if we knew that we would be where people wanted to hold him and ask them, for his sake to put the blanket between him and them-people were always okay with this.
We switched to ALL free and Clear and the lightest fabric softner we could find, Bounce Free and Clear. It helped a lot as well-and our family(extended) switched to this as well. HTH

If you haven't already, your whole family should go off all wheat and dairy products. Those are the biggest triggers of eczema. Also you should supplement with Evening Primrose Oil and a good quality fish oil. Any questions, email me. ____@____.com

I agree w/Jessica B and use the ABC line from Arbonne. It is all I have used on my kids for the past 4 years. I would use the wash, BODY OIL (no mineral oil...not greasy) and then the Body lotion. All for kids. I love it. Find someone (a friend) who can get the products for you at wholesale price instead of retail. Arbonne has great products. You might find some relief in the ABC line and also the skin conditioning oil. I really think you'll see a big difference in your baby if you start using it. Bless your heart. I have a 2 month old & it's hard seeing them in pain.

I have a product within a line of products that I market which works wonders on many skin issues. This product helps with no just eczema but also psoriasis, rosacea and people who have severe dry skin due to climate or diabetes. I have used this product to help w/ my dry skin and I can really tell the difference. I have a sample if you would like to try it.

I'm a Shaklee Independent Distributor and often I follow the advice of Dr. Richard Brouse who wrote a book called "Build a Better You." Of course if you can figure out whether an allergy is the cause..........avoid the culprit. but Dr. Brouse advises to do your best to reduce stress and a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and soy protein and high fiber whole grains. Drink plenty of water.
good Luck,
