6 Year Old Hair Cuts

Ok my daughter has long hair and she wants it cut. I love her long hair, but only when it looks nice. I make her hair all cute then she gets home from school and she looks like a little rag muffin lol. I know, she is 6 years old and very active. My problem is no matter what hair style I do those thin hairs in the front come out and make her look messy. Also even with a detangler brush and spray it is very difficult to brush her hair. So we decided we were going to cut her hair. But I have no idea how i want to cut it. Does anyone have any cute haircut styles? (trying to keep it as long as possible) I will probably go with shoulder length. Any ideas??
Thank you :)

She's six...the hair will grow back.

This is the perfect time to go shorter...summer is coming. I think that little girls look ADORABLE with a medium bob at this age. And it's MUCH easier to deal with. A slightly angled bob with side swept bangs will look very pretty and works on pretty much anyone.

My daughter was the same at that age. We decided to get her a pixie cut and oh my goodness was it ever adorable! Always looked nice, no more mop top. Just make sure you go to a stylist that knows what they are doing! No fresh from the beauty school salons!

When we were little, we always had the Pixie cut. I really liked it. It always looks good.

My neice just got an angled bob cut and it looks great!

By the way, you can keep those little pesky hairs in place and keep her hair soft and easy to comb by using Blue Magic Coconut Hair Conditioner. It smells great and really keeps the hair in great condition and after you have used it for a while, no matter how knotted or wind-blown the hair looks, it combs right out with no tangles!

oh please dont give her a pixie cut! in elementary school a popular girl got a pixie cut and she looked like a boy. none of the kids understood why she got a boy hair cut. it was the 80's.

look on pintrest for hairstyles. there are some really cute cuts that would look great on kids too.

if her hair is long and straight you can teach her how to place a side clip to keep it out of her face. also start teaching her how to brush her hair now. it wont be perfect but its much nicer to learn young than learn in jr high.

Whether you cut it or not, you might look into a great brush I found that works so nicelyon my daughter's curly, tangly hair - it is called the Hair Bean, it is one of those $9.99 "as seen on TV" things, I found it at the Dollar General Store, but it may be found at Walgreens or WalMart or CVS in the section with the as seen on TV items, or ordered online. I was skeptical at first, but it really does work great, and even on my daugher's BIG tangly hair, it gets all the way through and she doesn't fuss about the brushing like she did with traditional brushes.

I would say a bob would be cute...but the brush would help even with shorter hair!

My daughter just got her hair cut in a cute little bob. She donated her long hair to locks of love.

When my daughter was that age she chose to get an inverted bob and it looked fantastic on her not to mention it was easier for her to take care of.
