6 Months and Not Eating as Much

My 6 month old son used to eat about 6.5 oz every 3 hours (5x a day), but now he only will take between 4-6 oz every 3 hours. He has oatmeal/fruit in the AM and 1oz of veggie in the evening time, but this shouldn't fill him up throughout the day.

Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

Normal after they start food.
He will eat more when he wants it.
Is he a healthy weight? Is he pooping & peeing o.k.?
As long as he does not loose weight. He will also start to move if he has not already, and his appetite will get going again.
If you are still unsure ask the doctor.

Is your son having regular bowel movements and peeing regularly? If he is then let him lead you in the amount of food he eats. We all have ups and downs in the amount of food we eat from time to time. They have growth spurts and will eat more and then he will eat a little less for a couple weeks. Also he is doing other age appropriate stuff? Like sitting, shaking toys, recognize mommy& daddy and knows his name if those things are happening then he is doing alright. Good Luck!!

I think that sounds like a pretty normal amt of food for a 6 month old. Don't get too worried if your baby isn't a "text book" kid! IF he is gaining weight and is healthy don't worry sbout it. They will eat when they are hungry and just like adults it will vary from day to day. Their appetite changes with growth spurts and teething too.
