Hello,
My daughter just turned 6 months old and doesn't have much of an appetite. I usually only nurse her but I decided to just pump and feed her bottles. She used to get bottles at daycare when she was 3-5 months old (i stay home with her and my son now) and there she was only able to drink 1-3oz at each feeding about every 2-3 hrs. I thought she drank so little bc of her age but now shes 6 months and still eating the same amount. She also has no interest in solid foods. I was just wondering if this is normal or not. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I think as long as she's growing normally and going to the bathroom she's fine. Does your pediatrician think she is at a normal weight for her age. From my experience kids at this age take what they need and are fine.

I don't know if it's normal, but our son did the same thing, but he's growing out of it. He's now 9 1/2 mos old and taking 4-6 oz at a time and eating food and puffs. My advice would be just to continue offering it to her and she'll get interested. Babies/ kids eat when they're hungry. Don't worry. :o)

That sounds like a question for your pediatrician. She probaby should be eating more and could also go for more than 3 hours between feedings, but this might be normal for your daughter. Is she gaining weight and does she seem happy? What about at night? Does she sleep at least 6-8 hours?

My nearly 6 mos old granddaughter does the same thing. Her mom has decided she's a grazer like her older brother who is 9 and still eats very little at one time.

This feels normal to me. My granddaughter is gaining weight and meeting milestones and so her pediatrician said this was OK. She's in the 92nd percentile for height and 20 something for weight. She looks a bit chubby and definitely has baby fat. She's healthy. I'd ask her pediatrician to relieve your mind.

What does her pediatrician say?
