okay...i have a 6 month old who has been sleeping through the night since she was about 4 months old...bed at 8:30 p.m. and up at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. and she napped 9am to 10:30 am and 1pm to 3:30pm like clockwork every day. Suddenly she is waking up average of 3 times per night and is now sleeping for the sitter only about 40 min in the am and an hour in the afternoon...we are all baffled. Its not that she's hungry, we already explored that thought...any thoughts or suggestions?

What can I do next?

Growth spurt; and she is learning new skills, so she is waking up and practicing them instead of going back to sleep.
We ALL wake multiple times per night, just not fully. We roll over and go back into full sleep. She is probably having those moments, but waking more fully to practice her sitting up or rolling over or standing skills. :)

I was always told to give them "a few minutes" before going in to them during these times, to see if they will go back down asleep again on their own. Usually they are still sleepy... but we moms jump the gun when we hear them stirring and rush to pick them up.

Yes, I agree. Probably a growth spurt, milestone, even teething. This too shall pass. Good Luck :)

Yep, just as Victoria W. said-milestones and growth spurts will get you every time lol. Just be patient, stick to the routines that she knows and can depend on for sleep times and she will come back around. There will always be bumps in the road as they grow, develop and change. Part of the deal ;)
