I read Healthy Sleep Habits as well, and felt like the world's biggest failure when I could not seem to implement this at home. Our daughter slept anywhere from 10-12 hours at night, but was a terrible napper. The swing was my savior during the day. I know alot of people would say it's not a good habit to get into, but I eventually felt her sleep was more important than anything and if that's what worked, I rolled with it. When she got too big for it, she slept in her crib with alot less fuss than I thought we would have and at almost 3 years old, she sleeps 10 hours per night, and takes a 2 hour nap most days (sometimes 3 hour naps). Good luck!
