Birthdays are wonderful at Disneyland. For one, if it is on her day, it is FREE..
Buttons, special celebrations etc..

1. At Grand Californian, Handy Manny, Micky Mouse has a bday party for Minnie
2. Princess Breakfast @ Ariel's Grotto.
3. I do not like the Bippidity boutigue..not sweet looking at all...I would save the money..
They sell hair glitter at dollar store...beautiful hair by mom...special bow.
4. Is she still into princesses or grown out..you could buy a dress here or there and leave it in the room as a suprise..from that princess
5. There is a whole bday link somewhere
6. You get a button to wear and everyone says happy birthday

If you contact Disney they can tell you all the things they do. I know they get special recognition and what not. A character breakfast would be great! I have taken my children twice to it and they have always had a great time. You get to eat breakfast and the characters will visit each individual table. They are playful and will sign autograph books. It is such a fun experience. Good luck and have lots of fun!!!! =)

I also reccomend Ariel's Grotto in CA adventure. My daughter just loved it. Be sure to call in advance and get reservations. The number is (714) 781-DINE. Yes, they take reservations at the park, but you will be after the people who called ahead of time. That is also true for the charactor breakfast in the Disneyland Park.

Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel also has a character meal with a big buffet with lots of kid and adult choices. I know they have something special they do for birthdays because I've seen folks having birthdays there but unfortunately I don't know the details. However, it's another one you should ask about when you call Disney Dining to inquire. One thing we have noticed over the years is that the characteres and program at Ariel's Grove get changed fairly frequently so make sure to ask who will be there when you go -- you don't want to be anticipating princesses and find out it's Donald Duck leading people in the limbo (I've seen both of these at that location).

Sounds like you have a lot of great suggestions. One I would like to add is instead of an autograph book purchase one of the Disney character stuffed animals and have the characters sign that. It turns out really cool. The only thing is to remember that the stuffed animal needs to be smooth fabric and light color. As for the pen, a sharpie or fabric marker works great!

Have fun!!

Hi K.

You can go to Minnie and Friends and they have a character breakfast buffet for like $23 a person and you can get a cake package for like $15 and it comes with gifts for the child. Make sure you call Disney Dining and book it. It is a very popular place and it is located near Tommorowland.

To make your daughter feel like a princess, take her to Princess area near Toon Town and she can meet and greet the princesses. She can also have her hair and make up done like a princess which costs some money. Hopefully other people will give the most dollars.

Have fun.

I know there are at least two restaurants that have costumed characters walking around (they alternate them) that will come to tables and interact with families and pose for photos.
I think one was connected to a hotel (California Grand hotel?) and the other I think was near Main Street, but you might need reservations, there.

I'm sure you can get some kind of cake...

The Disney website probably has plenty of info---they are all about promoting themselves, and they encourage celebrations in general. Some travel packages will even include restaurants/shows.

Disneyland has a few different choices for you while celebrating a b-day. Number one is totally free, it the admission for your daughter (sign up for it in advance through the website, because the lines are long for redeeming the free ticket) along with admission she will get a bday button, and the whole day cast members will wish her happy bday.
There are a few different character meals, and a disney bday party in the parks, but they can get pricy. If you do the princess dinner or lunch at Ariels grotto on the california adv. side of the park the cast will announce her birthday to the other guests. We went and had this dinner last october and for 2 adults and 1 kid with our AAA discount (which takes 10% off the total) it was about $75.00 it includes a drink, meal, and desert.
If you do a different character meal, such as one of the breakfasts (minnie breakfast in the park is the best one in my families opinion) you can have a birthday bucket given to your daughter, which includes a personal cake, it was around $25 and so not worth it in my opinion, as its just a bucket with a few cheap toys in it and the small cake.
Have a great time, and happy bday to your little girl!

Hi K.
We went to Disneyland for our daughters 7th birthday. we stayed at the paradise pier, when we checked in they gave my daughter a balloon, a signed photo of some of the Disney characters and also a button which said happy birthday and her name too.
For the whole trip every time we lined up for anything or passed an employee they wished my daughter a happy birthday, she loved it and felt very special.
Also at Minnnie's kitchen which in in the park they have a birthday celebration about 1pm, you need to make reservations, its about $16 per person and everyone gets a personal cake to decorate and then they meet Mickey and Minnie and get to dance with them. My daughter loved it, she said it was her favorite thing from her trip. have fun.

At the plaza restaruant they do a wonderful Pat-E- Cake birthday. You decorate a cake and get photos with Mickey and another character. It's so delightful. Two of my children have participated. You make arrangements the morning of at the little stand in front of the restaruant. It's called the Happiest Birthday on Earth celebration. I don't remember the cost-but it was very fun. Enjoy.

Hi K.,

We were just in Disneyland over the weekend with our son who is 4.5. It was fun! If you go on their website and check the dining section, you'll find info about the character dining options. I think they do one with Daisy of the Princesses. I'm not sure about the cake though...you'll have to call and ask.

Also, if you go to guest relations when you enter the park, they will give you a Happy Birthday pin for your daughter to wear. The guest relations office is located on the left side of the park right after you go under the train station bridge.

Have fun! I hear November is a great time to go!

Cut and paste this website into your browser and it will take you to the Disney event planning pages. You put in the important information and it guides you though the process of making her day special.

BTW, if you go on her b-day, her ticket is free, which isn't cheap.

We took our daughter to Disneyland on her 5th birthday...the only thing we set up was lunch at Ariel's Grotto. You can get a free DVD to help you plan you day(s) at the park from Disney. We let our daughter dress up in her various Princess outfits...the day we went to Ariel's Grotto she was dressed as Sleeping Beauty- then the 'real' Sleeping Beauty came out. The character Sleeping Beauty was so cool- she said to my daughter "twin sister, I have been looking for you all day!" Almost 2 years later and that is one of my daughter's favorite memories! You will also need a autograph book for all the Princesses and Characters; there are some cool ones to have the princess sign on one side and then you put in a pic of your daughter and the character on the opposite side- they are reasonably priced but you can bring your own. Have fun!

I took my daughter to Disneyland for her 5th birthday too and she loved it. I took her to the Princess Brunch at Ariel's Cove. It wasn't to expensive. You can even order a mini cake for her. I called to make the reservations and if I remember correctly you need to call soon. Space fills up fast. Have a great time. I know your precious lil one will.

This grandma votes for Ariel's Grotto too. It's a little bit expensive, but I think worth it for the pleasure and great memories for a little girl.

Greetings Kimberly: We always (even as adults) get the package that has a meal with the disney characters, and make sure that we make arrangements to have a photo taken with the favorite character of the time ( for my husband it is Tigger). Check with everyplace you can for the best deals. AAA, Disney.com., your bank or credit union, eetc and see what things are going on with the characters the princess party was abig hit for us as well.
