Hi Mom's, next month is my step mom's 50th and i want to get her something thoughtful. I want to spend around $100 or so. She and I are very close and she has been there for me in many ways more than my own mom. I would like to get her something that is very thoughtful and that she will love. Ideas?? I am and can be pretty crafty so I dont mind putting a little work into it.

What can I do next?

okay, mamas....I will be 50 next year! My honest, honest answer here is: I do NOT want a single gift idea listed! Sorry! Anybody want my Christmas decor? I have waaay tooo much! & Sorry...mani/pedi are not a treat...unless they're part of a party with a group of ladies & drinks! & I do all of my own scrapbooking...thanks, anyway! Not trying to be mean... simply trying to clue you in on "Life at 50".....

I may be soooo close to 50, but I still attend concerts with my sons (ages 15 & 24)/nieces/nephews/& my sis. Love, love live music & theater!

I still keep up with current entertainment, while still appreciating the classics. Can't wait until the Lynyrd Skynyrd venue opens in Vegas! & just ask me how many movies I've been to this year!

I rent a convertible Mustang for fun wkends....haven't done it yet this year, so I'm overdue! I think the fact that I've been doggin' my son's Camaro with the t-tops off....has a lot to do with that. :)

Still hit amusement parks, entertainment venues, & love to travel.

I spend naptime (with my daycare) researching/archiving family history. I scrapbook thru the generations. I'm constantly changing things in our home. Love to update thru repurposing!

Soooooo, find something to go with her hobbies (if any), hit a casino together, do a road trip....just the two of you! Lots of FUN options....my whole lifeline right now is: to have FUN with my sons & the rest of my family! 50 is not old, 50 is not Gmaville. Heck, my M. will be 70 next year & my Gma is 90....lots of life still to live! Peace....

My "Bonus M." is on her way here to visit. I'm sending her for a mani/pedi next week while our son is in school. Soooo exited to do that for her.

I wanted to get her a massage for her but they don't have anyone right now so that was my compromise. :(

Scrap book all the way. I made one of my daughters first year for all three of her Grandmothers last year for Christmas and it was a nicer gift for me to be able to give them that then I think it was for them to receive it

If she has been there a lot for you, how about a collage of pictures of you two over the years? That might be personal, crafty and very sweet. Or treat her to something she wouldn't do/get herself - dinner at a fancy restaurant, a spa thing, some item she keeps putting off but could really use or like.

How about mani or pedi or both for both of you together & a nice lunch out? Sometimes the gift of time and company and bonding are the BEST gits! Have fun!

How about a gift card for the Christmas Store along with a homemade gift certificate to spend the day shopping with her. I love to get new Christmas stuff! And It's the right time of year. I'm sure she'd love spending the day with you picking out ornaments and garland.
