Two months seems like a long time for a broken blood vessel to heal. Does he rub his face, maybe he’s nervous about something? Could it be Rosesa? I don't know if children get that.
My 5 yr. old recently developed a broken blood vessel on his cheek. It is small, it's been there maybe 2 months. Some days it is more noticeable than others. Has anyone experienced this? I don't recall any "trauma" that would have caused it, perhaps it is spontaneous. He always wears appropriate sunscreen on his face. I'm debating taking him to a dermatologist. I read online they could do injections or laser therapy to minimize its appearance...I would NOT consider any of these now! I just want to make sure it doesn't somehow spread or happen elsewhere. Any advice? Thanks.

you can take him to the derm to be safe but I have a few of these on my face and got them as a child and for me no harm ever came from having this but it's good to just get a derm opinion to be safe
If the 'broken' vessel is like a bruise, maybe with some swelling, then it is indeed a broken vessel and should clear out in a few weeks at most. If it looks more like a red or blue blood vessel visible just under the skin, then it's probably not broken. This can be spontaneous, and is often genetic. More of these could develop over time. If it someday becomes a concern to your son, laser treatment would probably be the most effective.
I am not sure what causes them or if they do heal... If it were me, I would check w/ my Pediatrician first. Good luck
My little one has what looks like a broken blood vessel on his cheek and his ped told us it was a hemangioma (he also has one on his eyelid that is an actual lump). His pediatrician said it should fade (or completely disappear) by age 6 or 7.
