Lower your AC a couple degrees at night - my son would soak his sheet/pillowcase at night with the AC set at 70 & we've just bumped it down a little; now he isn't sweating at night & we all sleep better in the cooler temp anyway!
My very healthy 5 year old breaks out into a soaking wet sweat about 15 min. after he falls asleep. He doesnt sweat all night - just when he first falls asleep. I know that I sometimes do as well - but he does every night. Any other moms with the same thing? Anyone have any idea what it might be... Dr. says its normal???? but didnt offer any other advise or helpful info.

Hi K.,
I am a Homeopath and there are wonderful natural remedies that can help him...I would need to know a few more details about him but Sulphur is a good remedy and or Calcarea Carbonica, look them up online. Good luck
Hi. I don't know how you feel about alternative medicine, but...several years ago I was seeing a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, which includes herbal medicine and acupuncture. He told me that when I was waking at the same time every night it had to do with the energy channels in the body. Since your son is sweating at the same time every night, maybe he has an energy blockage in one of his channels (acupuncture works with energy channels throughout the body). Acupuncture might help; its really not painful or scary - the needles are a lot skinnier than needles for a shot. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck. We all want our kids to be happy and healthy!
Both of my boys (6 & 3 1/2) do that every night. Some nights worse than others. It doesn't matter if I put them in a tank top and undewear to sleep in or long sleeves and pants. Dr. told me it was normal as well and it hasn't bothered either of them yet. They have always been that way. I will pick up their heads and flip their pillows over before I got to bed if they are really wet.
Hi K.,
My son is almost 3 and he as well has night sweats. His grandparents all think there is something wrong with him, but there isn't. He's been sweating like this since he was a baby and the doctor assures us, just like your doctor, that it is perfectly normal. Some kids sweat while they sleep, that's all. He will be soaked after only 10-15 minutes of deep sleep, but unless it is accompanied by any kind of new symptom, I wouldn't be concerned. You're not alone. Hope this helps!
