Second on the chiropractic! I've worked in the field for over 12 years and have seen three children come in for bedwetting and stop within a few adjustments. Good luck!
I have an almost 5 year old who recently started wetting the bed. He seams healthy, so I don't think is a health issue, or if it is, it must be something that doesn't hurt. There are not big changes in his life, too. It started about a month ago. He was potty trained since 2.5 and he had accidents only the first night or two when we are away from home. Any ideas?

You need to watch and see how thirsty he is. If he seems to be drinking alot, always asking for water, or telling you he is thirsty. He just may have diabetes, and get him to a doctor emmidiately. I don't want to scare you or make you rush him to a dr. right away, just watch and keep note. I have a friend that wetting the bed was her first sign that her son, same age as yours, had diabetes. She tried to ban water before bedtime thinking that, that would help, he was caught getting water in the middle of the night, and was told no many times. He was in a sense "stealing" (lack of better word right now) water, because he was sooooooo thirsty. It was not until one day he became very listless, that she took him to dr. and he was rushed to the Hospital where he stayed for 3-4 days. So, this is worst case sceneario, I just wnat to warn you to watch the signs........

about me: Mom of 3, 2 boys ages 16 & 13 and 1 girl age 12, full time working, and own my own business and I coach my daughters sports teams. Very busy.
If he doesn't have a bladder infection, or big changes in his life, it is hard to figure out. I hate to always bring this up, but my niece wet her bed at 8 years old. Couldn't figure it out until she was a teenager. She confessed that her father had been molesting her for years. Not that it is always that, but just a heads up.
My son was doing the same thing for awhile (he's 5 in Feb.). I know that children's bodies sometimes grow faster than their bladders - which means they have accidents in the night. My son sleeps so soundly, that he just would not wake up when he needed to go.
I did buy him some Underjams and had him use the toilet right before bed. He evenutally stopped having accidents after a few months.
Make sure your son is staying hydrated through out the day and not loading up on fluids at night (because all the sudden he realizes he is thirsty then).
And it probably would not hurt to have him checked by the pediatrician, but it's probably nothing to be concerned about.
I tried lots of things with my son. For him it was sleeping too heavy. I got an alarm that maked noise and wakes up the child as soon as it gets a little wet. the child then gets up and uses the toilet and changes any clothes that gets wet. We only needed it for about three nights. I wished I hadn't waited until he was eleven, but I really didn't want to go that way, but it is what finally worked. I don't know what age is appropriate for your child. I got the Wet Stop 2. I got it online for $40. Let me know if you need help finding it.
Has he had any falls or big bumps lately? Sometimes a fall can put pressure on the nerves that control the bladder. A trip to a chiropractor can straighten that out.
Did he have any kind of fall? Reason I am asking, is my son had hurt his back (don't remember how since it has been 20 years) but with three boys you can only imagine the rough housing and playing they do. I told my chiropractor in conversation about it, and he wanted to check him out. He started adjustments and we noticed almost immediately the wetting was becoming less and less and before long he wasn't wetting the bed. Again, can't remember all the details but I do remember that his neck was going in the opposite direction that a neck is suppose to go and that his lower back wasn't aligned. He also was always sick, and after the adjustments we noticed, no more strep, he didn't have anymore seizures (and he had two) and the wetting.
As I progress in age, I truly believe that Doctors need to work with chiropractors, they are some smart people. There are still bad ones out there so make sure to get a good recommendation, I would recommend mine in a heart beat, but God has taken him home at a young age, but he did teach us a lot while he was alive.
That was my brother. He started wetting the bed almost every night for a few months when he was about 5. He was just a HEAVY sleeper. It didn't phase him at all to be wet. Since it was only a few months I think it might have had something with his body growing and his bladder needing to catch up. He is in college now and (as far as I know, haha) hasn't wet the bed since those few months. If you have easy and affordable access to your son's pediatrician it can never hurt to bring it up to him or her just for the extra peace of mind. Good luck =)
Sometime childrens urinary tracts don't grow as fast as the rest of them. I took care of a girl who had one kidney smaller than the other, we found out because she wet the bed. Even thou there is no pain, you need to have it checked out.
