5 Year Old's Birthday Party

I'm looking for some birthday party ideas for my son who is turning 5 in March. I would prefer not to host the party at my house. I've looked a little into Wildwood Highlands and Jump Zone, both of which are pretty pricy. Any other ideas for fun party spots??

What can I do next?

We had my son's 6th Birthday party at Chik-fil-A. I have to say this was the best idea ever! It was cheap ($7/child) and the kids had a blast. The parents who stayed really enjoyed themselves as well and thought it was great. For the $7, each child gets a kids meal, balloon and small stuffed cow). The staff was fantastic and knew how to keep it moving along. I highly recommend it.

I think we did bowling for our 5th birthday. Or what about a swimming party at a local hotel or rec center?

how about bowling? You can usually get good deals on parties and the kids love it.

Parties that I thought were good - the Science Center, Riley's Summer Seat Farm (might still be too cold)

Lots of loud places that the kids enjoy and I can't stand - Bounce U, Chuck E Cheese, Jewart's Gym (not too bad), Build A Bear (Ross Park - not loud but rather annoying).

Try the YMCA or local health clubs. Some offer active party ideas with rock climbing walls, swimming, relay races, etc. Bowling is fun too.

My son's favorite place to go to a birthday party is Bounce U. Don't know the cost though.

Still a little pricey, but if I remember correctly not as bad as JumpZone is the Children's Museum.

When my son was 5, we hosted a party for his class at our local grocery store which was very new and had a community room for rent - very nice, carpeted, nice furniture, holds 50 people - often used for conferences. We were able to rent a large room for $50 - we had a Pirate themed party, and it was fantastic. The best part was that the store people took care of all of the clean-up. They even helped us with some of the decorating in terms of where and how to hang some of the props we used and re-arranging the furniture how we wanted it. Then, when all 16 kiddies went home, we were able to go home to a clean house without having spent a fortune at one of the big party rental places.
