In the last two days my five year old has been sleeping all day and night, only to get up to go to bathroom and get something to drink. Should I be worried?

What can I do next?

Because this would be so out of character for my kids, I'd take them in to the doctor just to be safe.

I would take her to the Dr. as soon as you can. I might call and talk to the after hours Dr.

Does she have a fever? Vomiting or diarrhea? Is she drinking enough fluids?

Is there anything stressful going on at home?

Has your child ever done this before?

I would be worried. If it was a growth spurt, she would probably also be hungry. If she is not eating and is sleeping all the time, I would call and insist on speaking to her doctor. And then do whatever they recommend.

Sounds like illness (my DD is sick) or a growth spurt. What has the child been doing before now and what is the behavior when the child is awake?

Call the doctor and see if they child should be seen. Could be a virus, could be something else, so get a consult over the phone and make a decision.

I would be. Does the child have a fever or an appetite?

I would be worried about my child if they slept for 2 days straight. Is your child complaining that anything hurts? Has he/she got too much sun lately? Are you worried?

~ I am thoroughly confused by this post?! Why are you asking us? Strangers that don't know your child or what is happening in your life at the moment? Aren't you concerned? Is this normal behavior for your child or not? If its not normal, GO TO THE DOCTOR!

I'd be freaked out and they'd have already been to the doc.
