Hello Moms! My son is turning 5 at the end of this month and he wants to have his birthday party at home. He has been talking about having face painting done at his party. Does anyone know of someone who does face painting for birthday parties? I live in the Danville area, and as I said, the party will be at our home. I am also open to other ideas for child entertainment, such as maybe a magician. If you know of anyone who does magic shows for parties, please also respond. Thank you in advance for your time and any ideas!

I saw this entertainer at Pixie Land once. She was wonderful and I asked for her card. She also told me she does events and parties for the City of San Ramon.
Good Luck.

If you know of any responsible kid-friendly high schoolers, they can be a great help with things like face painting (we had a couple high schoolers from our church help out with our daughters' 7YO b-day party last year and it was the smartest thing we did - they were very responsible and had waaay more energy that we parents do, and the kids thought they were THE coolest!)
Another thing that's a big hit with kids your son's age are the traveling reptile shows - I think if you contact the East Bay Vivarium they could probably give you some rec's, I can't remember who did the one at my girls' classmate's party a few years back
edited to add: you can get face paint from most craft stores for $10 or less, and from our experience kids in the 4-7YO range are just so happy to have their face or hand painted, even if it's just cat whiskers or a rainbow or a flower, they don't care how 'professional' it is.
And here's the link for East Bay Vivarium's traveling reptile shows: http://www.eastbayvivarium.com/aboutus/shows.html
I have a friend who started a face painting business. She's awesome!
I've known her for 15 years, she's gentle, kind and honest. :-)
I had her do face painting at my 9 year olds party last fall and the results were amazing.
Her name is Kelly....###-###-####
I offer a party activity option that few people have heard of, and the kids just love it! It's called Noah's Ark Animal Workshop and it's a traveling stuff-n-fluff animal workshop in which kids make their own plush animals. I come to your home and conduct the 45-60 minute workshop for you, and the kids all leave with a quality animal that they "brought to life". If you want more information you can give me a call at ###-###-#### or visit my website at www.planetfluff.net. I'd be happy to help you out and provide your son with a birthday party he'll remember for a long time!
