I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My daughter is 5 mo old, and i believe she is teething. When she is crying, uncomfortable in any way or concentrating on biting her teethers, she makes this sound that does not even sound human. I'm not sure how to describe it other than saying she sounds like a little monster/gremlin. I mean, it's really scary. My 6 year old brother was over, and he just kept staring at her, and I could tell he was very unsure about the noises she was making. I had to keep reassuring him that it was ok. Honestly, sometimes I'm not sure what to think about it.
Well I'm glad to hear that my daughter isn't the only infant doing this. I didn't want to say It like that, but yes, it sounds like she is possessed. I told my mom about it over the phone and I could hear her rolling her eyes at me thru the phone. Then she came over and heard her doing it and got on the floor to stare at her, trying to figure out how she could possibly be making those sounds. They strted out just cute little growls, but now, they sound literally evil. She did have vaccines at her 4 mo appointment, does that have anything to do with it?
my son makes this weird growling noises that sound like he was pocessed. So you're not alone. Supposedly its because they like the way the vibrations feel in their throats
LOL. OMG. My husband just said that our daughter sounded like a gremlin the other day!!! SO FUNNY. She's 8 months and teething. I get her those homeopathic teething tablets. They are wonderful!!! I give her 2 right before she breastfeeds or she won't/can't eat. They melt away really fast.
Also, I videotape her and post it on Facebook now. My friends and family have a good laugh at the crazy baby!
My daughter is now 7 weeks old and she has made a loud breathing sounds since she was born but they say it will get worse around 5-8 months. This is a breathing problem that has to do with her larynx (it is a very common condition of infancy, in which the soft, immature cartilage of the upper larynx collapses inward during inhalation, causing airway obstruction ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laryngomalacia)). It is actually called Laryngomalacia if you would like to look it up. I took her to a specialist and she had a procedure where they put a tub down her noise and said it is nothing to worry about and will go away on its own by the time she is one or one half. They also say the sound gets worse if they get a cold or get upset. I'm not saying this is what she has but this sounds like my daughter most of the time. I hope this has helped some, good luck.
My son, who is 15 months now, makes a weird noise too. It is almost like a growl. It is hard to describe but it sounds funny. He does it alot when he is concentrating on something too. He just does it because he can. I actually do it back to him and he thinks it's funny. It is just something that they figured out they can do and do it. It probably isn't anything to worry about.
No worries, both my kids also made/make some odd sounds :)
It's normal.
Both of mine did that teething puppy growl.
My son used to gind his teeth, which drives me crazy, so I would sqeeze his cheeks. Not too hard but firm enough to get him to stop (not enought to leave a mark or anything like that). I did this for about a month, and he stopped grinding.

Has she had an illness or vaccines recently? You say she had 4 month vaccines. Watch her carefully. My son began screaming in the middle of the night (not the noises you described) after his 6 month vaccines. I told my husband there was something wrong as I could not comfort him. I now believe he was in pain. No one seemed to think it was a problem except me. His unusual screaming, weird fits, weird shaking his head, constant diarrhea, inability to speak at 18 mo, wave or point at 1 year were all huge red flags that I didn't know about. My son is 8 and autistic. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying this is the fate of your child. Most likely it is not. My daughter is neurotypical and she had several vaccine reactions. I'm just suggesting you watch for any vaccine reactions from 1 hour to 1 month after vaccines and slow them down or stop if she is reacting.
My middle child did the same thing. But she sounded just like a gremlin and to this day she still does it.(that was her nickname for the longest) and she does it cuz she knows she can and like hearing herself do it. That's like my 4 month old he would let a small scream if u wasn't looking at him or his sisters were around. And he would make noises just to get you to look at him. But just let her make her noises but if they start sounding worse then go get her looked at. Good luck!
