I am currently 6 days late. Yesterday I took a pregnacy test and was negative. Oddly enough exactly a year ago I was 16 days late taking a test everyday after a week late. I didnt want to hear it, but I just wasn't pregnant. It was really hard on me emotionally and have decided not tell anyone this time around. So reasons, why I think I am not pregnant: My partner and I used protection this time, and after last year mess/panic, and being stressed and constant traveling, I'm starting to think my body is just late this time around year...? I mean is that right? Has anyone experienced this exactly late around the same time? And yes, of course I will test a week later, and continue to take care as I am late. No signs of bloating, nor soreness of breast, I did just catch a cold with fever and sore throat, but no nausea.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I'm in late 20s and normally I downplay my stress levels, but no I admit I've been stressed for about 2 months now. Plus the last two weeks I was in Florida, North Carolina, northern California and finally southern California. So it doesn't surprise me I got sick.
I started to get cramps today, and to my calm surprise I just got my period. Only 7 days late. I just find it so odd, that exactly a year later I was late at the exact time. Not as late as last year. Normally, I've been so punctual every year, with the exception of last summer and now this one.
Oi, now come the heavy cramps!
Thank so much for letting me share here!

I'm always late in August. Don't know why....but I always have been.
Travel and stress and being sick can cause you to be late. And as you get older your pattern will naturally change. I'm at the premenopause point where I will miss 4 months then be normal again.

Try not to stress.....

This may sound strange, but whenever I get it in my head that I might be pregnant (even if it is completely unlikely because we used protection or whatever), my period will be late. It has happened for a week or even two. It has happened to me at times in my life when I wasn't trying to get pregnant and also when we were trying to get pregnant (which took us a long time, so I was always hopeful - and if anything seemed like a possible indicator that our trying had worked, i'd get it in my head that maybe i was actually pregnant... and sure enough period would be late even though i wasn't pregnant). When I finally did get pregnant, the home test result was positive on about the day my period would've started.

This has happened to me before...Sometimes stress can trigger you to miss a period. When I missed mine I wasnt stressed out or anything. I didnt end up getting my period until the next month and it was pretty bad must I say. lol. But I think it happens to all of us. I wouldnt worry, but if you are go to your doctor and they will give you a test and if it still says negative they will give you a shot to bring on your period. Thats what my mom told me once and they did that to her. I've had 2 babies and every time I was pregnant the test came up positive right around the time I missed my period. The 2nd one even came up positive before I missed my period. I just had a feeling and once you have a baby you know what it feels like to be pregnant. Well Good luck!

Like the other mom said, stress can definitely make you late. Other reasons are sudden weight loss or gain as well as a change in diet and/or exercise. These can throw off your hormone levels temporarily which cause you to be late. Have you had any extra stress lately in your life? Even if you don't 'feel' stressed, if a big change has occurred recently in your life, it does stress your body. I hope everything turns out well for you! Good luck!
