I was just curious if there is anything that I should expect for the fourth time around? Are there increased complications at all---and are labors really a lot quicker? Share your stories, please!!!!

What can I do next?

Even though I have only 2 children I have miscarried a total of at least 12 and one being my youngest's twin. Each one was completely different in a lot of ways but in some they were similar. I think depending on your health and the pregnancy will determine how easy or rough it will be. My son's was a cake walk almost text book, where as my daughter's pregnancy was very difficult and complicated. I was mainly in the hospital the whole pregnancy. Now with labor both they were not text book cases. Both were very fast, infact all the women I know in my family had quick labors. My son's was difficult delievery but fast and my daughter's was an easy delivery just very tiring since I pretty much was in labor the whole time and was shorter then my son's.

I just had my 4th baby in December and I can tell you one thing for certain. It is harder. I think I was more tired than usual and I experienced alot of pelvic pain where the muscles were stretching. Labor itself was okay, I cant complain about that. Although be careful because they do say that the more babies you have the faster your labor so you dont want to get caught somewhere far away from the hospital when the time comes.
Just make sure you get a lot of rest and if possible get the girls to help you with day to day things, even though they are young they can help out and they will probably enjoy being "mommys helper".

I've got 5 kids 4 I had of my own one is a step child, as for me as the babies came the labor went faster. With my 4th child I was in and baby out within 3 hours. And the pain wasn't as bad.

My sister has had 10 including a set of twins. All of them were different but her 9th child inclusing labor was awful. #10 was a good pregnancy and labor/delivery. I really can't say that it matters. All women and babies are different.

Hi! I am also pregnant with our fourth child and my midwife hasn't said I am at risk for anything. I do know you show ALOT sooner! lol They do say your labor goes faster, the more children you have but that varies for everyone. Enjoy your pregnancy and congrats! :D

My fourth was really fast. 3 hours from beginning to end and if she hadn't been coming out sunnyside up it would have probably been even quicker. I was borderline toxemic with her too but I just watched what I ate and all was well. I was only 25 when I had my fourth so was still relatively young. I had my fifth five years later and it was just like having a new first one LOL How far apart are yours? How far along are you? I just found out today that my new grandbaby is going to be a boy. We have so much testosterone around here but the baby is nice and healthy and that is all that matters. She is due the 14th of March. Good luck with your new little one and don't worry :0)

We have five, which includes a set of twins! I think I got more tired each pregnancy, probably because of being older and having children to take care of also. I loved being pregnant and knew what to expect each time. With our set of twins, the first came out natural but the second one was c-section. We then had #5 and I did another c-section, which was easier the second time around. I think your body adjusts and nature runs its course and I'll pray everything goes smooth!!! Congratulations!

I have heard the labor is shortened with each pregnancy, and as long as you have been able to delivery naturally with all your children, then it should be fine. I know there can be certain complications with C-sections, and the possibility of the incision site tearing the futher along you get. I would definitely start doing your kegel exercises. After 4 children those muscles have to be a little worn, and you will need them to help support you during labor, and it will help you return to normal faster after the delivery too. congratulations with your 4th child, I wish you the best.

I'm currently 30 weeks into my 4th pregnancy (one of which ended in m/c)and the only difference I can really tell is I'm a lot more tired and achy and it started earlier on. Of course, my first pregnancy was over 11 years ago and I'm now chasing a 2 year old on top of everything else! I've only ever had c-sections and can say that I atleast know what to expect at delivery time this time around.
