Maybe do Joe T Garcia's and then after eating do a slide show of his lifetime thus far and then maybe a casino night with funny money. At the end have raffle tickets to exchange the money for a Gift card of some kind.
Hi everyone! My husband will be turning 40 and I want to start planning his birthday party in advance. Does anyone have any good ideas about places to rent or any fun ideas to share with me? Thanks so much!!!

I had a 40th BD party for my husband at Joe T Garcia's in Fort Worth. They have several rooms that are private or you can even have it next door in the building that use to be an old church or outside on the patio. Another place we have had a party is at Prima Pasta on Hulen and Granbury Road. It is affordable Italian
food and it is BYOB. Have fun!
I did a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband at Main Event over in Grapevine. They have other locations as well. They have party rooms in the back where we met (& surprised my husband) and had cake and opened cards. Then everyone went and played laser tag, bowled, video games, etc. This worked well for my hubbie.
Years later, I just turned 40 and we planned a simple dinner at a convenient & tasty Italian restaurant and my husband brought in a cake. We and all our friends have young kids now, so we planned this around a church-sponsored inexpensive Parents Night Out so everyone could have reasonable childcare secured in a close location.
My sister-in-law planned a suprise trip to Shreveport for my brother-in-law's 40th b-day. It was the Friday and Saturday before his b-day. She invited all of us, asked his boss for the Friday off, and made little travel packs with snacks for all of us. If you want to stay close to home, I agree with Dave and Buster's. Have fun planning!
Dave and Busters is a fun place and men and kids love it. My friend's son had his wedding reception there. Arcadia and good food. Also the men can play pool and the kids love the games. G. W
No Matter where you hold the party, just the special touches will make all the difference! My husband an I both turned 40 last year. We gave each other great parties. I held his at our home and invited people from his past...high school, previous duty stations, kids he had coached, etc. It was a big party but so much fun! The hardest work was keeping it a secret and getting in touch with everyone. I did regular and e-vites. The special touches included an easle with pictures from his past and present. I also passed a blank journel and asked everyone to write a memory or just a message to my husband on a page by itself. It's now one of his favorite reads! Good luck!
How about bringing the family to Great Wolf Lodge? Indoor water park, fun arcade, kids will be tired and happy. www.greatwolf.com
Or, one wife I know rented the winery down off of Hwy.121. Big room. She told her husband that one of her friends had invited them to a wine-tasting, so dress nice, and they would go out for a "real" dinner after the thing with her friend. When he walked in, there were parents and siblings and cousins from across the country. Wife showed a PowerPoint slideshow of pictures from when he was a babe to high school to their young married life. It made us all laugh. She also hired a band and we danced. I don't know who catered - - food was basically finger food.
(I think Dave and Busters and Main Event are good ideas)
I don't know if your husband is an "outdoors man" or not but Cabela's is a fun place for a birthday. They have a restaurant upstairs with a private party room. You can order food there or bring your own. This is a great idea if you are on a budget. The number to the one in Fort Worth is ###-###-####.
We are having my sons first birthday there tomorrow. We picked the location for several reasons.
Kids and adults will both enjoy themselves. There are token for the digital archery range, fish food for the indoor river, a scavenger hunt, indoor aquarium, life size animals and beautiful animals.
I can save money by bringing in my own food and drink.
And I don't have to clean my house;-)
