Why not try castor oil? It tastes bad but works if you are ready and if not you just go to the bathroom.
I was wondering how accurate it is to get done anyone know this is my 3rd child i am 3cm dialated almost 41 weeks i am passed my due date never had it done before so dont know how well it works

I had it done with my first and I was 5 days passed my due date. I was in labour less than 24 later. I also had it done with my second when I was 1 day passed my due date and nothing but I went into labour on my own 5 days after that and she was born in less than 2 hours
Good Luck
PS its pretty uncomfortable but if it works then I would say its worth it and it takes all of 15 secs
Do it!!!! I had it done for my second and third babies and I went into labor the same day. With my second, I started having contractions while I was walking to my car after the appointment!
It is uncomfortable, so you'll have to brace yourself a bit, but I found it to be SO worth it!
ETA: Well, did you have it done? Did it work? Or are you still preggo????
Good luck! I never even got close to my due dates, so I wouldn't know, but since it's clearly in the next few days at this rate, I'm wishing you a great delivery!
heck yeah you need to go get those membranes striped!! 41 weeks pregnant? You poor thing! That baby needs to come out! I had my membranes striped with my first. It didn't hurt, could even feel him doing it and it took all of 5 seconds to have it done. My water broke that next day. I've heard that it only works if your body is ready. but being dialated to a 3 and 41 weeks......i think your body is ready! LOL
Worked for me, along with pitocin... went right into labor...
Wound up having a C but that was unrelated....
Congrats and Good Luck!
Didn't work for me. I had my membranes stripped a couple of days before my due date, since my baby was measuring waay big and we wanted to go into labor sooner rather than later... The day after my due date, I went in for an induction with pitocin... after 10 hours of that I was sent home... The day before I hit 41 weeks I went into labor on my own and had a 10 lb baby.
Sooo.... It could (and probably will... I think my DD is just exceptionally stubborn...) help, but it might not!
It can work, if your body is ready. What it does is releases the prostaglandins needed for labor to begin on its own. It's not fool-proof though. I had mine done about 1 week prior to due date b/c I was 3-4 cm dilated. A week later, he tried to strip even "more", still didn't go into labor for a few more days....
