Hi to all, I hope all is well.
I have a 4 yro boy and I have no idea what to get him for Christmas. Because I have an older child (9), the little one doesn’t seem to have clear likes of his own and yet, I can’t get him 9 yro presents.
Can you let me know what are you getting your children of similar age? I’m hoping that would give me some ideas.
Thank you and Happy Holiday Season!

There is a toy called Motor Works that is absolutely perfect for boys this age! It comes with a car, a motorcycle and an airplane that you can put together and take apart with the included battery-powered screwdriver. I have seen it sold through Discovery Toys and also through DT on Amazon. I know that you can also get it Lakeshore Learning, but I think it may have a different name. http://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Toys-2288-Motor-Works/dp/...

If you get it through Discovery Toys directly, it comes with a carrying case, a manual screwdriver and - most importantly - a lifetime warranty. The other options don't offer those extras.

Otherwise, my son loved his toy garage for hot wheels at that age. He also started playing a lot of board games.

A Dream Light (it projects little lights (like stars) on ceiling. Great in place
of a night light. They keep it on their pillow & push the button.
Matchbox cars
Big Leggo blocks
Travel DVD player w/a cartoon movie
Playschool Tents to paly indoors with (they pop up & they kids can
climb through. Great in inclement weather.)
Matchbox Track/garage set
Jenga blocks to build with
Hungry Hippo game
An animated "Cars" book (they push buttons that make sounds)
