My 4 year old son has been grinding his teeth in his sleep. I myself (even as a grown up)have this habit of grinding teeth in my sleep and so wondering if there is a way I could stop him doing that right now. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

My daughter does this ( and her teeth are starting to look a little weird) but the dentist said it's normal for this age and that they don't do anything for it. He even told me that some kids grind their back teeth (baby teeth) down to the nub!!!! AHHH how gross is that?

Something to buy is a sports mouthguard that you form to his teeth and have him wear it at night. I actually have the same problem even as an adult. Did it growing up and I actually scraped my enamel off my teeth. I would suggest going Scheel's and getting a mouthguard.

Most kids do and grow out of it - I would mention it to the dentist next visit but it's nothing too serious at 4 to deal with.

My younger son did it at that age. The dentist doesn't do anything about it or worry about it at that age. Most grow out of it, as my son did. If it continues when he is older there are mouthguards to wear at night, which my husband does.

I heard it is one of parasite symptoms.

I think a lot of kids do that. I remember my son grinding his teeth when he was about 4 or 5. He's almost 9 and he doesn't any more.
Maybe mention it to his dentist next visit?
