4 Year Old Girl with Frequent Urination

Over the last few weeks my daughter has gone from urinating what I thought was frequently about once per hour to once every half hour. My husband took her to the doctor's office last week and the doctor said that she sees this often in girls her age. She was checked for infection and that was negative. I'm wondering have any of you been through this with your daughters? How long did it take to resolve?

My daughter did this and she was constipated, it was so bad it was pushing pressure on her bladder therefore making her go like crazy and have accidents.

hi B.

you bring up a very interesting problem as i also have twin girls who use the restroom frequently also. they go potty and then in another 10-15 minutes they have to go again. if you think you spend a lot of time in every public restroom then you know what i must be going through. if someone out there has encountered this before then we both could use your help. i have discussed this with their pediatrician and she could find nothing wrong with either of them. they have regular bm and dont seem to be constipated eventhough they do have hard stools sometimes. when i told their pediatrician about the hard stools she just recommended some stool softner. i hope this is nothing to be alarmed about as she did not seem to be too concerned about it. so when you get a answer B. could you also contact me so that i can rest assured that my 2 angels are okay.

Has she been tested for diabetes?

It's good that she was checked for an infection. The only thing I can add is to test her for diabetes if it continues or you have a family history of it. Frequent urination is a common symptom.
