I would get some eucalyptus essential oil and put a few drops in some light oil (I use almond oil) and rub it on her chest. It is soothing, safe, and works wonders. Also, if you use homeopathy, I highly recommend homeopathic spongia tosta. I would dissovle 2 tablets in a tiny, tiny bit of water and rub it on her tongue. Actually, *I* would probably rub it directly on her tongue, letting her saliva dissolve it. It dissolves like sugar very quickly when wet. I hope she's okay! Don't give her cough syrup, please, please. Coughing is her body's way of clearing her throat so she can breathe. My friend lost her baby after giving him cough syrup when he had croup. He died in the night. And, he was over a year old. Her ped recommended the syrup.
