Hi Everyone,
My 4 month old started sleeping through the night @ about nine weeks. He was doing great and sleeping about eleven hours. Now for the past two weeks he has been waking two times a night.I feed him twice last night but he was still up at 7am.I know he's teething but would that cause him to wake at night? He seems to be napping less also. Any suggestions on what I can do to get him back to sleeping through the night.I have a routine with him and he knows when bed time is.I give him his last bottle and he goes right down everynight. The problem is he is now waking two to four hours after I put him down. Please HELP.Thanks to everyone in advance.

He may still be hungry, try adding the powder cereal to his bottle at night, I realize many people think this is too early, however it was the case with my daughter as well as some friends children, it's worth a try. Good luck and sweet dreams.

I heard that until they are about 10-12 mo old their sleeping patterns can change, I heard this from a mom not a md. so I am not sure if its true or not. My daughter didn't sleep through the night until 11 months old, but we got her to sleep through the night by this musical aquarium that attached to the crib. It light up and played music for 9-12-18 min. We got it at babies r us, the baby can learn how to turn it on them self to.
Maybe this will help.
Good luck on your new baby!
(If he is teething we found that the homeopathic teething tablets worked better for us than tylenol, and if there is no pain then he might sleep better)

Sounds like a growth spurt or teething. I notice with my 2 boys, that their sleep patterns changed when they were getting ready to do something new, sitting up, crawling etc. Just stick to your schedule and things will fall into place again.

Hi C.--all I can say is it seems like he is hungry--I know both my daughter and son did the same thing at that age-they go through different growth spurts and I think this may be the timing for one --good luck mama, have a bottle of something ready for him when he wakes--have you started him on baby cereal yet?

My Daughter is 9 months and is getting her top two teeth and the same thing is happening, so you are right it does effect their sleeping (and ours) Now she only wants to sleep in my arms in the upright postion. You can get through it, it is only until they break through.
Good Luck.

This is just the beginning - my daughter is 2 - and still not sleeping through the night!!! If you find a magic potion that works, let me know cause I've tried EVERYTHING (except meds) to get her to sleep! I keep her up during the day - she still doesn't sleep - I let her take an early nap - she still doesn't sleep!

Good luck!!!

I am having the same thing with my DS as well. He is 15 weeks old. I think I figured out he was still hungry so I feed him more during the day. I also give him a bottle or part of a bottle when I go to sleep around 11pm. That way he may wake up at 4am and then sleep until 7am. I do put cereal in his nighttime bottle at 8pm. It seems to help and i have been doing it for about 3 weeks and he has been fine.

My trouble with sleep is naps. He gets tired about 1.5 to 2 hours after he wakes up but is a BEAR to get to take naps. It's about a 30 minute process but I KNOW he is tired he yawns, rubs his eyes and his eyes will close then snap open they close ....

Good Luck!!
