So What Happened?

37 weeks and have been having contractions since Saturday night. I think it is just false labor since they just happen whenever and really can't be timed yet. :(

Hang in there, the last 3-5 weeks are the hardest. The longer the baby is inside the better for him/her-plus you are not full term yet. Try some easy stretching/yoga and walk A LOT! Those actions help easy the body of baby related pains.
Good Luck!

I understand that you are in pain, but the best thing for your baby is to wait for labor to start naturally. I am 35 W currently, but my last was born ar 37 weeks by induction after 3 months of bedrest.

He was crital, transferred to Georgetown University Hopsital (lived in Northern VA at the time), spent 3 1/2 weeks in NICU and the first week they didn't know if he was going to make it. He was put back intro a drug induced coma to re-create the womb setting, 8 different IV's, jet repirator (360 breaths a min, NO, ect) .

We couldn't hold him untill he was about 2 weeks old, could nurse untill a couple days before he came home at 3 1/2 weeks, b/c they had to tube feed him at first after he became stable and off the ventilator, then the nurse had to bottle feed him untill he got the concept down- he had to eat a certain amount w/in a certain time and keep it down so they had to be able to measure exactly how much he was eating.

I would hate for anyone to go through what we did- he is our true miracle baby.

Try to take it easy and relax, ask for extra help if needed ect- your baby will be here when they are ready :)

Take Care,
L.

No offense, but you're not even considered to term until you reach 37 weeks I believe. Why risk it? I know the last few weeks are uncomfortable, but it isn't permanent and its worth it to be uncomfortable for a few more weeks to know your baby will be fully developed and ready to live outside the womb. None of the tricks will work until your body is actually ready anyway.

Sorry you're only 36 weeks! Gotta wait just a bit more mama! Babies come when they are ready.

If you are having significant pain (since you didn't tell us what kind of pain) you need to contact your doc since you are not full-term yet.

I totally agree with the other moms. I so totally understand how uncomfortable you are, but you need to hang in there for your baby. You can do it. My last pregnancy was extremely bad and I was on strict bedrest for almost 6 months. Even though had extreme complications and I was really suffering in pain, my doc told me that I needed to get as far along as I could for my baby. It was really really hard believe me. Your baby needs to be in there as long as possible. You wouldn't want your baby to be born too early and have complications. I know a lot of babies are born early and turn out ok, but my doctor showed me statistics that set me straight. My doctors first just wanted me to make it to 32 weeks, then we pushed for 34, then 36. I thought I couldn't take it anymore but I made it until 38W4D and I had a beautiful healthy son. I will never doubt my strength knowing what I did. You will be thankful later. You can do it.

I agree, talk to the doctor about the pain.....you shouldn't deliver yet......the closer to 40 the better.......

Try to get comfortable sitting.......or laying down, if that doesn't work, try walking.......sometimes the baby moves and that makes it a bit better.....

I know that you are uncomfortable, but believe it's in the babies best interest to stay in there..........we don't want her to have issues later......so hang in there.

Take care and Congrats on the new little one.

The best way for you to start labor would be to wait until 37 weeks at the absolute earliest and even then it would be better for the baby to 'cook' longer.

I know you're in pain and getting to the end of the pregnancy isn't a walk in the park, but hang in there so your baby has the best chance at a healthy delivery.

You're almost done.

Why would you want to deliver that early? I had my son not by my choice at 36 weeks and he had issues. Each day they spend inside is bettter for them. Talk to your doctor about the pain. He may give you suggestions to make you make you feel better. I am currently 36 weeks 0 days and while I am on bed rest and have been for 3 weeks...I want to make it to 38 weeks regardsless how much pain I'm in. Good luck!
