A.S.
I was going to say something, but Amy E said everything I was going to say. Sometimes drinking more water can make them less uncomfortable.
Is this normal? I'm 33 weeks with my third, I can't remember having this many BH contractions with my first two. My last baby was almost 3 weeks early, am I in for another early baby? Does anyone remember having several braxton hicks contractions a day at this many weeks?
Thanks for your responses. I drink a ton of water, I'm addicted actually...so I'm not dehydrated. But I probably am doing too much running after my two year old and 15 month old. Hmmm. Guess I could try to do less around here! I'll have to get the hubby to chip in more. ;)

I had terrible BH with my second. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water (that was usually my problem) and not over doing it (my other problem) and call the dr just in case. Good luck!!
I had them early on and the more babies the early they started for some reason. As well, had them a lot. But I had 2 early ones and 2 late ones, so it doesn't always mean you'll deliver early. I think it was because I was doing too much. This may be what's going on with you. But best to call the dr.
C., I am 36 weeks right now with my second and have been having BH contractions since about 27 weeks. I do not remember having them at all with my first. I asked my doctor about it at one of my appointments and he said he almost never has a first time mom ask about them, but rather it is always the 2nd or 3rd time around. He said not to worry. If I had more than 6 in an hour or if I showed any signs of leaking or bleeding, then he might be more concerned. Just to be on the safe side, give your doctor a call to ease your mind. Best wishes to you!
With my twins I started Braxton Hicks around 30 weeks and didn't go early. They started with my singleton around 22 weeks and also went full term.
Sounds normal to me! With my second I was having them from 7 mos on. Some days I wouldn't have any others I would have several. If you are having a lot of them that is a sign to take it easy, but it's also your body's way of getting ready for labor. Just keep an eye on it and let your doc know if you have any other symptoms, even the tiniest spec of blood.
I had a teeny tiny spec of blood in my 7th month and didn't think much of it but called my doc and they told me to go right to the hospital. Turns out I was having real contractions and didn't even know it. They monitored me for a while, gave me some instructions about taking it easy total vaginal rest etc, then after a few weeks it was back to normal.
Good luck and congrats!
It was typical with my first child but I started having some strong BH at 6 months. I continued to have them somewhat consistently. I didn't rest as much with my second pregnancy because I had a very busy toddler to care for. She did come 3 weeks early, by the way (even though 3 weeks early is still considered full term, barely, she had some health issues and was hospitalized for it. It was all a result of being born a little early). She's great not, however. So, my advice to you is to take it easy! ...I mean, really take it easy (whether your OB tells you to or not). ...especially since your first was early as it is!
It can be. Or it could be something else.
I would always error on the side of caution personally. Drilled into me by my doctors.
Call it can't hurt. Worse case is an unneeded trip into the hospital for a little monitoring.
I am admittedly gun shy. I had contractions at 28 weeks.
After about 35 it is all good. Yes I know 37 is better, but when you compare outcomes at 28 and 35 worlds away.
I had them bad enough at 33 wks , also with my 3rd , to call doc & I normally don't bother docs unless I'm really concerned. I made it to 39 wks. You should call your doc, though. May give you directions / want to monitor you.
Im 26 weeks with my second and I get one a day on average now. I dont remember having them much at all with my first so maybe it has something to do with the fact that this is your third baby
Good Luck and Congrats
