3 Yr Old Likes Sleeping Naked!

My daughter who is 5 going on 6 yrs old does not like Pj's and will not sleep in them when she is at home. She will go to bed with them on but takes them off because she gets hot easily. She does know that when she goes to Grandma's, or to her aunts for the night that she has to wear Pjs. I let her sleep in her pull up at night because she goes to sleep faster and then she keeps ehr blanket on too all night. I agree though, have him pick out a special pair of jammies just for sleep overs and tell him that they are his special ones that will help him fall asleep faster and keep him comfy at night there.

My 3 year old LOVES to be naked. I swear it's how we potty trained him so early. He wanted to take "naked naps" during the day, but I told him he had to be able to stay dry during his naps before he could do that. Within days he was taking "Naked Naps"! Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My son knows that when he's in our bed or just hanging around the house he needs to at least have underwear on. I also have to convince him that he really can't run around the back yard naked either! I wonder if my daughter will be the same way...

According to my mom I was the same way since I was 2, I felt smothered wearing nighties and jammies to bed. Her suggest. If it isn't a huge deal at home just let him, but explain that when he sleeps at grandmas he has to wear special grandmas house jammies (allow him to pick out a special pair just for grandmas house)

My daughter is 5 1/2 and sleep naked most of the time and has for awhile. She loves it, prefers it. We try to encourage underwear, at least, but if she is in her own bed, what difference does it make? If she wants to come into our bed, she must have on at least underwear. She does put clothes on as soon as she gets up in the morning, so she isnt roaming the house naked. :0) As long as you are comfortable, I would let your child sleep naked, but have the rule if he sleep elsewhere, he needs to have at least underwear on - and you might want to have that rule if someone is sleeping at your house, too.

My 4 year old daughter doesn't like to wear pj's either. Usually she sleeps in just her pull up. However, when she goes to my parent's house she has a special pair of pj's that she has to wear. I usually just let her sleep in nothing but her pull up, because she'll take her jammies off as soon as I leave the room anyway. If she's comfortable that way then I'm fine with it.

I actually had to giggle a bit when I read this! I have a three year old girl who has the same issue, she just cannot fall asleep with clothes on. She actually started preschool two days a week this year and it took until Feb or March to get her to stay dressed, she usually strips down to her underpants. They had to tell her that in case there was a fire they had to get out fast so she needed to stay dressed. At home we usually just let it go because she falls asleep so much faster and better, she says that pjs itch her and she gets too hot, no matter how soft and light they are. Anyway, it can be a bit embarassing I know, like when someone comes to the door during nap time and she is practically naked, but in the long list of things to deal with when it comes to kids at least it's good for a laugh!!

My 5 year old does this all the time. I will put her pj's on and she sleeps with me. I will wake up in the morning and look over to a butt naked child. I think she does this in her sleep and doesn't even know it. It kinda bothers me and kinda doesn't. She has had many many sleepovers at grandparents, and freinds houses and has never done it there. I think she get's hot easily and just rips off her pj's. She is also picky and won't wear sweaters or anything to heavy in the daytime even when it's below zero.

My 2 yr old daughter strips down to her diaper, she has done this since she was old enough to take her clothes off.
I am concerned when its cold, and she is running aroud in a diaper. All I can do is try to put clothes on that she has a harder time getting off, like onsies, overalls, ect.
I guess I am not as concerned at night, but I can see your point of the sleepover thing. I think he will out grow it and once he sees his peers do not do it, he probely would be embarssed at some point.

I had trouble with my 3yo son not wanting underwear on at all. He went commando for almost the whole year until I tried boxers. He LOVES them. Maybe yours could use them too for sleeping.
