Hello Mamas,
You have been a great source to go to in the past and here we are again. My son is falling down all the time now. He also likes to bang his head on the couch or back of the car seat. To me, this doesn't seem normal as we have 3 other children and none of them have shown this type of behavior. Previously, I thought that he was just super active and does not slow down. However, it seems like the behavior is becoming worse. Thanks in advance.

This might be wayyy out of the park, but might be something to look into. When I was little I had severe ear infections alllll the time. I eventually had to get tubes in my ears. My mother told me that I fell down all the time would not walk without holding on to something. My equalibrium was off for a long time. If your son has had any ear infections recently, or might possibly have one now, perhaps that is the cause?
You should get him evaluated by an occupational therapist, including a neurological evaluation. My son is 4 and was doing the same exact things your son is. He has been diagnosed with dyspraxia and sensory processing disorder - under-responsive vestibular system and under-responsive to tactile sensations. He is going to occupational therapy at Life Skills in Arlington right now and making some good progress. Google what I'm talking about and see if it "clicks" for you.
Wow, I thought my son was the only one who does that. When he gets upset, he hits himself on the head or sometimes bang his head against the door. He will pick up his drumsticks and hit himself in the head. Not hard but it just looks a little off. He's still very advanced for his age, but I was worried about his brain activity. If you're at all worried, take him to get a CAT scan.
